I couldn't sit on my ass to be spoonfed by Helena, I had to find a new job, start over again. Although part of me wanted to skip town, I had a feeling Sheriff Barker wouldn't like that idea. Once again I was a primary suspect, but this time I would ensure I had solid evidence.

"I could always use some help with my work," Sally told me as we stepped into her home office. I widened my eyes upon seeing the disorganized desk, filled with files and knick knacks.

"Writing is a blessing and a curse," Sally spoke, and blew out a puff of smoke from her cigarette.

"Are you leaning towards the other end?"

Sally broke into a wry grin.

"My college degree is pretty much worthless."

"That's okay, you got hands, passion, still gonna pay you as long as you give me a reason not to kick your ass."

Then she called out the wage, it was decent.

"That really means a lot," I replied. "Not many people would hire in a heartbeat."
