Vivienne Parker POV
As I busied myself in the kitchen, the aroma of cooking food filled the air. I was making a hearty chicken soup with vegetables, accompanied by freshly baked bread and sandwiches. My mind was focused on the task at hand, but my heart was with Linda, who was still struggling to come to terms with her situation.
I glanced over at Maya, who was sitting at the kitchen table, looking worried. I smiled reassuringly and continued cooking. Smith and Lydia were chatting quietly in the living room, giving us some space.
Once the soup was ready, I ladled it into bowls and called out, "Okay, everyone! Lunch is ready!" Maya got up to help me carry the food to the table.
As we sat down to eat, I looked around at the people I loved. Linda was still a bit pale, but she managed a weak smile. Smith and Lydia were chatting and laughing, trying to lighten the mood. Maya was watching her mom with concern.
