Nami suddenly woke up after experiencing a recurring nightmare. His eyes were dilated as he struggled to catch his breath after a few minutes of hyperventilating in his dream.
'...The ceiling... Looks odd... Where am i..?'
Nami realized he wasn't in his apartment. His head throbbed with pain. Trying to piece together why he was there, his memories were fuzzy, and his ears rang. Then, a few knocks sounded from the other room, followed by a young woman stepping in.
"You're awake? Are you feeling well?"
She held a tray with warm porridge and a cup of tea. Her expression was blank, devoid of emotion.
"It's cold outside, so I brought you here after I saw you passed out in the snow."
"I FAINTED?!"
Nami was shocked, now remembering what had happened and how he'd ended up here. The young woman, however, remained unfazed by his outburst. She carefully set down the tray and sat a meter and a half away, respecting his personal space.
"Take your time. I'll wait before bombarding you with questions. How about you eat and warm up?"
"Don't worry, it's not poisoned," she added, averting her gaze to the carpet.
Nami's stomach rumbled, empty after not eating for a while. Initially hesitant, he realized this woman had saved him from freezing to death. He devoured the meal. The young woman glanced at him before looking away again.
...
From her appearance, Nami could tell she was a secondary gender alpha. Her tall and broad shoulders were typical of an alpha female. However, he couldn't smell any pheromones from her.
It was truly strange.
