Akai uttered with a smile, "Don't worry, Grandpa. I know him well."
He beamed from ear to ear.
She held his hands and exhorted him repeatedly to take his medication on time and get enough rest. She wasn't putting on an act. She liked the old man not only because he was kind and loving but because he also treated her genuinely.
Ryder thought to carry her to the dining table since she sprained her ankle. However, Akai gently pressed his hand as he got up.
"I can walk on my own. You don't have to trouble yourself."
After the meal, Akai and Ryder headed to the room on the second floor.
Akai sat on the soft bed while Ryder turned on his laptop and had to deal with sudden work matters.
Akai sprawled on the bed. "You have work?"
"Yes, I have to review an urgent project."
Akai stopped disturbing him. She wondered if it was because she had just eaten. Sprawling on the bed made her feel sleepy.
