Chapter 2 - Void

Hisui, Mt Coronet: Temple of Sinnoh

RRRRAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

' What was that phrase that Akari liked to use? Oh yeah… '

"We are so fucked."

"Yup." Akari replies from behind me.

And as soon as she said this Dialga, of course, opens its mouth and fires a purple energy beam… upwards?

Wha...HOLY SHIT that's Draco Meteor!

Looking up into the sky, I see countless falling meteorites making their way towards us, before I step forward and raise Kusho's shield over me, bracing for impact.

"Palkia, protect us!" Akari screams as she slings a wooden Ultra ball forward.

BOOOOOOOOOMMM

The meteors slam into us, leaving craters throughout the ground. The once beautiful temple was now left shattered and broken, unrecognizable from its previous majestic self. As the dust fades I look up to see, standing before us, a giant pink dragon. A massive Protect glowed in front of it. It then locked eyes with Dialga and let out a ear piercing roar.

RRRRAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

Dialga responded with one of its own. Then, it began to gather tremendous amounts of powerful, blue energy near its mouth forming a ball. The suffocating pressure around the temple continue to increase, making it extremely difficult to move. I groaned as the force pushed down on my body.

"Palkia, stop it now! Spacial Rend!" Akari yelled out to the space god from her knees as the increasing pressure forced her down to the ground.

Palkia roared and swung one of its massive arms up, the pearl on its arm glowed brightly and surging pink energy swirled, forming into a luminescent blade at the tip of its claws.

The crystal on Dialga's neck also shone intensely as multiple cerulean diamonds appeared, surrounding its abdomen like a ring. The navy blue sphere of energy at the front of its mouth expanded, blasting a purple beam of pure concentrated power directly at Palkia.

Palkia dashed forward to meet the beam, raising its empowered claw high, before slashing downward directly in front of itself. The area in front of it then just… cracked, like glass. As I stared into those cracks in the sky I could see galaxies and stars.

The beam collided with the rupture in space, both energies fusing causing a massive explosion.

BOOOOOOOOOMMM

Time froze, space shattered, and I could only watch as the massive rift opened up, like the jaws of a nightmarish creature, pulling me and the surrounding debris into its core. My hands fail to find a grip and I am thrown into the void.

"Corvin!"

———————————————————

Darkness. Nothing but endless darkness. Everywhere Corvin looked he could only see an infinite void.

"How long have I been here?"

Corvin turns to stare into the empty space searching for something, a sign of escape, anything besides the eternal abyss. A black katana rests by his side. Its tassels tightening around Corvin's arm as a singular purple eye showed worry as it could feel the increasing emotion and despair of its partner.

"DAMMMIIITTT!!!"

From Corvin, a long, frustrated scream echoed out into the void. His Aegislash flinched at the sudden loud volume as it tried to calm him down, patting his back with a tassel, the other still wrapped around his arm.

"Thanks Kūsho. I'm alright. You don't need to worry too much."

"Slashhh…"

The sword answered with a whispery call of its name, seemingly doubting Corvin's mental state.

"I'm fine! It's just… I'm worried about Akari and the others."

"Aeegi."

"Yes. I know she's strong but they're fighting against a god!"

"…Sla slash?"

"What?! Of course I believe in her! But I'm still really worried."

Corvin tightly held the fragment of the Red Chain hanging off his neck.

"What if she's badly hurt? Or worse? Dead?"

"Aegi. Aegislash." A resolute expression appeared in its singular eye.

"Yeh, you're right Kūsho. We can't really help them in here. Let's find a way to — WAIT! Where are the others! They were in my bag!"

Then Kūsho's long tassels reached into the void grabbing the floating black satchel and opened it to reveal a mess of Pokeballs and materials. Corvin dug through the items until he found certain marked Pokeballs, checking them to make sure they weren't damaged in any way.

"16…17…18! Whew. You're all here. Are you guys alright?"

Corvin gathered the 18 different Pokeballs and held them close to his chest. Each of the 18 colorful, wooden balls shook lightly, each making a different sound responding to his concern.

"Good." With a small smile on his face he carefully placed each ball back into the satchel. He then tied the bag tight around his waist.

Kūsho's eye had a deadpan expression. The katana was beginning to get annoyed by Corvin.

"Slash!" It gave Corvin's arm a small tug with its purple tassels, causing him to look at his starter. Kūsho pointed into the void.

"You're right. Let's find a way out of here first. The faster I leave this place, the faster I can get back to Akari an—"

BOOOOOOOOOMMM

A sudden explosion of golden light erupted, devouring the black emptiness of the void, blinding me.

"WHAT THE FUU—"

Corvin's eyes slammed shut, he raised his hands trying to block the harsh light from permanently frying his eyeballs. The light engulfed him and Kūsho, and faded to reveal that the boy and sword disappeared. In the void a strange Pokemon remained. It's pure white body was supported by four powerful legs tipped with gold hooves, a large golden cross-like ring surrounded its body. Its red and green eyes watched the spot where Corvin vanished.

"...…Noisy...…"

Present Day: Sinnoh, Eternal Forest

"Krow...Krow."

Murkrow was a simple bird. He had no worries. No thoughts. Head empty.

Wake up, eat some Wurmple, collect shiny things, mate with Hoothoot, and sleep in his collection of shiny treasures. Ahhhhh. Life was good.

Huuuuummmmmm...

Huh? What was that strange sound? Also, isn't it a bit too bright for nighttime? Murkrow then glanced upward to see the MASSIVE FUCKING CRACK IN THE SKY!

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!

White lightning struck, illuminating the darkness of Eterna Forest. The sound was audible to everyone in Sinnoh, and for a brief moment the night skies of Sinnoh turned into day. When the dust settled, a wide, gapping crater was all that remained of the disaster.

Cautiously, Murkrow glided down to the crater, peeking inside to see an unconscious male human and a long, black and SHINY sword. He flew down, making his way towards the shiny blade, intending to take it as his own. But as he edged closer to the sword, Murkrow froze, feeling an ominous pressure emanating from it. Every single feather of Murkrow's little birdy body told him to turn and get the fuck outta there. So he did. But he didn't get very far. As soon as Murkrow had taken to the skies, he was on the ground again as two long purple tassels grabbed both of Murkrow's wings and held him in place.

"Ughhhh."

Murkrow watched as the human dragged itself to its feet. This one had long raven hair tied into a Ponyta tail. It dusted off its black clothes and shiny armor as it looked around. The black sword that held Murkrow floated beside the human. The human then turned, and Murkrow saw its sharp violet eyes focus on him. Was it angry that Murkrow tried to steal its sword?

"Hey bird." It spoke. "Where are we?"
