Chapter 1 - Magical forest

Recover is a warm season, perfect for berry growing. Dew drops from melting snow fall from the top of the growing leaves. Esmeralda took her basket and coat and went out of her wooden house after making breakfast for her grandmother and younger brother who were still asleep.

The puddles form a circle full of water after the rain. The birds in the trees chirped and sang to welcome spring. Esmeralda walked, jumping up and down with a basket avoiding the muddy and waterlogged ground.

The forest was green with towering trees growing, their trunks covered in moss. Various plants and fungi grow abundantly here. Esmeralda stopped when she saw some mushrooms that would be very delicious when cooked, she took some to mix in tonight's meal. The girl walked again through the forest, very lush and quiet. Only the sound of crickets, the sound of waterfalls, and the sounds of forest animals fill this wilderness.

"Strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries… would be great in jams and juices." From a distance, Esmeralda saw a series of lush purple fruits growing not far from where she was standing now.

The girl was half running, jumping over small branches that might trip her legs. The blueberries were dense and fertile. Esmeralda picked the fruit until her basket was half full before finally going to look for other fruit.

"Already blueberries, raspberries too, now just strawberries, they usually grow behind the bushes around here?" The lush forest made it difficult for Esmeralda to find the strawberry tree she was looking for. She saw a striking red fruit behind the dense bushes. Esmeralda could already guess where the strawberries she was looking for were.

On the ground overgrown with grass and scattered with small twigs, Esmeralda walked carefully towards the back of the bush. This year, the berries grew very thickly,; Esmeraldatook just enough so that the remaining fruit could be eaten by forest animals.

Esmeralda stood with a basket full of berries she had picked. The little girl turned around, but she stopped, moving from where she was at a glance when she saw something that caught her attention.

A bright blue light, like a pearl, was on the side of the tree. Esmeralda approached the glowing object and realized that it was not a pearl but a small perfectly round hole. Very eye-catching. Curiously, Esmeralda put her finger into the hole. Something strange happened, he felt dizzy for a split second, then came back to his senses with a strange feeling. It was clear that something was wrong; the girl's hands were fumbling behind her, looking for her berry basket; this forest was becoming increasingly strange, so she had to leave this forest immediately.

Strange! Esmeralda couldn't find her basket even though she had put it very close to her. The girl looked to make sure, and sure enough, the basket had disappeared.

"WATCH OUT!" Before Esmeralda had time to think, a large black dragon appeared and breathed fire at her, the girl didn't have time to dodge. Luckily, at a critical moment, in a precious second, a man ran quickly towards him. Grabbing his waist and carrying him away until they fell, but fortunately survived the burst of dragon breath.

"Parsiolis!" Several people raised slender black sticks in unison into the air. The sticks emitting blue light gathered into the shape of a large bird, like the phoenix he had read about in legends. The bird flew through the air and devoured the dragon's head. But it didn't have much effect. The dragon immediately shook its head, and the bird disappeared.

The Francos Guild carried out their real plan; when the dragon was off guard, they shot arrows, fired spears, and crowbossoms simultaneously at The dragon's wings, ars central weakness. The plan succeeded, the dragon screamed in pain and flew away from the forest back to its nest. It would take months for the wings to recover, the dragon would never come again until then.

Dragon wings were the pride of the dragon tribe, they would not dare come out with damaged wings. Even though they can regenerate, it will take time for the damaged body to recover to its original condition, therefore, when pressed, they will choose to run away to recover.

Esmeralda got up to see the strangeness around her. The people were dressed strangely, with robes that covered half their faces. The man who saved him was wearing armor, just now, he saw a dragon spitting fire at him. Esmeralda looked up, covering her mouth in surprise, the forest had changed. No longer lush green, now the surrounding forest is a sparkling blue. Esmeralda remembers whether she ate the wrong fruit in the forest and was hallucinating. His head was dizzy, his vision began to blur, and he slowly began to lose consciousness and fell unconscious to the ground.

The majestic building stands firmly with its pillars in the middle of the blue forest with its golden light. The building is the Lafery Academy, a place where young wizards born with natural magical talent are trained to protect the border from attacks by the evil dragon, Armon.

Crystal forest is the name for that magical forest. The forest contains a variety of natural magic from nature. Unfortunately, the forest is directly adjacent to the Delux kingdom where the dragons live. Hundreds of years ago, there was a war between humans and dragons, four brave knights stood at the forefront to face the dragon tribe. They slaughtered all the dragon tribes there, which made the dragon angry, and a fierce fight broke out between the four knights and the dragon king.

Four brave knights were finally able to defeat the dragon, but before his death, the dragon used all his strength to curse the four knights. Destroyed their spirit link so that their spirit came out of the body and turned into four rings, and with its tail, the dragon threw the four rings flying away. That was the end of the dragon king's revenge because all his people had been killed. Now the four knights have become bodies without souls because their souls have been thrown away along with the four rings somewhere.

Esmeralda frowned, feeling as if she had had a strange dream. She felt warm air on the palms of her hands and feet, making her body feel comfortable. Esmeralda opened her eyes thinking that right now she was in her simple wooden house, hit by sunlight coming in through the window.

"He's starting to wake up, quickly call the magic master!" Esmeralda started to open her eyes, suddenly shocked, and suddenly withdrew her legs and arms which were being given magic by several people. The girl sat cornered against the head of the bed, trying to stay away from the people in strange robes.

"Are you awake? How are you feeling?" one of them tried to get closer, asking Esmeralda. The girl, who had just woken up and was still confused, suddenly screamed in surprise when she saw all of them approaching.

"Don't come near me! Who are you all? I want to go home, now!" Esmeralda screamed in fear, pulling the blanket to cover her legs. The magic master finally came and entered the room, behind him was also a man wearing armor, the man who had helped him before.

The head magician stood at the side of the bed and looked at Esmeralda as if looking at her carefully.

"I can feel that there is a natural source of magic in your body. Are you from Nelodion?" Esmeralda frowned as if she had never heard the name of that place.

"I don't know what you mean, I come from Serpant village. My grandmother and little brother live there, I want to go home and meet them!" Now it was the turn of the magic master and the Lafery academy group to be confused, in the Alion kingdom t, they had never heard of a village called Serpent.

Nelodion is a city that produces the most and best wizards in the kingdom, so it is not surprising that most of the students at Lavery Academy come from the city of Nelodion. Students who graduate from the Lafery Academy will return and spread across each city, while some stay to protect the borders and form a group called the Lafery Academy group headed by the magic head, Marylin.

"Never mind, you just rest first. Amber will come soon with food, I hope after that the two of us can talk comfortably." Chairwoman Marylin turned around and left the room back into her study. In the room, he took a large black book and opened it on the table. CROSS-DIMENSIONAL TRAVEL. The title is written above the book.

Esmeralda ate the food delivered with gusto. Since morning, he had not eaten, and seeing the good treatment of the people there, he slowly let go of his guard.

"Wow, your eyes are green, that's a very rare color in the Alion kingdom. Are you from abroad?" Several people heard that and immediately gathered around Esme and noticed her eyes which were green like sparkling emeralds.

Esmeralda looked awkward, her eyes looked at them all one by one. Her age of 14 made her the smallest there, everyone who saw her felt that Esmeralda was very cute.

A woman with her hair tied in a ponytail came from outside the door and called them all over. "Chairman Marilyn asks you all to come to her office with the child from a foreign country!" He immediately left again after delivering the message.

Currently, Esmeralda is sitting awkwardly facing Chairman Marylin and surrounded by members of the Lafery Academy. Chairman Marilyn massaged her forehead, looking dizzy about something.

"You guys! Is there a need to stand so close? You're all making the air hot. Quickly get out of the way, stick to the wall, and lift one leg!" Chairman Marilyn pointed at the wall beside her, and the academy members quickly followed her orders, they listened while sticking to the wall.

"You can talk casually, how could you appear in the Crystal forest alone?" Chairman Marilyn asked with a smile.

Esmeralda thought while remembering.

"I... is written a small hole in the forest, out of curiosity I tried to reach into it, suddenly my head was dizzy and I was in this forest."

Hearing Esmeralda's answer, the chairman, Marilyn, seemed to be thinking.

"It seems my guess was correct, you came here through a portal." All members of the academy group looked up at once.

"What? Portal?" They all lost their balance and fell to the floor. It's been a hundred years since a new portal opened.

Throughout the kingdom of Alion, a legend spread a hundred years ago about the existence of a foreign visitor, who had protected the kingdom of Alion from the brink of destruction.

One hundred years ago there was a plague and drought that spread throughout the kingdom. Healers have been deployed to research the plague but with absolutely no results. As a result of the prolonged drought, there is death and starvation everywhere. Until a man came wearing a white robe with a bag containing his strange equipment. He succeeded in overcoming the epidemic and looking for alternative food ingredients to overcome hunger. The mysterious man picked up a wild plant with fruit growing on the roots and said it was edible.

The man proved that they thought they could only use foreign plants as animal feed by processing the plants into delicious food. He called them yams and potatoes.

Until an explosion of babies with magical powers died because the magic in their bodies became entangled and exploded. The man discovered the crystal forest as a forest that produces and balances magic. Together with King Carsiel, he built an academy there. The academy is divided into wizard and knight schools, producing talented wizards and knights who protect the city and build it together into the greatest kingdom on the continent.

Unfortunately, after the glory of the Alion kingdom rose, the man disappeared in the crystal forest and has never been found until now.

Currently, Esmeralda has changed into the Lafery Magic Academy uniform. Starting today, he has been officially accepted as a student there. The girl walked following Marilyn trailing behind, only then did she find out that an open portal was a very rare occurrence in this kingdom. Portals that randomly penetrate other parts of the world in this universe, Esmeralda never expected to enter one of them. Now that Esme has no way to get home, all she can do is develop her magical talents to protect herself in this strange place.

"Esme, remember to be nice, okay? Don't say anything other than saying your name. I'll explain everything." Esme nodded until they finally arrived in front of a door with strange flower carvings around it.

Esmeralda took a deep breath and gathered her courage to enter the room. There sat a woman wearing glasses with a neat bun, and a shiny hairpin decorating her head.

"Still young." Esmeralda thought. In his mind, the principal who had led the school for fifty years was an old grandmother who had not yet accepted her retirement, but in front of him was a young woman with fair skin and a beautiful face. If he hadn't heard Marilyn's story about the principal being 80 years old, perhaps he would have thought that the principal was only 20 years old.

Marilyn was talking to the principal, who, for some reason, she couldn't hear. The principal, who heard Marilyn's words, looked at Esmeralda for a moment then took out a piece of paper.

"Give me your hand!" The principal stretched out his hand asking for Esmeralda's hand. The girl was confused then looked at Marilyn and agreed when she saw Marilyn nod.

Esmeralda gave her hand, and then the principal took the hairpin from her head, pricked Esmeralda's fingertip, and dripped it onto the paper.

"Ahh...." Esmeralda was shocked and winced in pain.

Miraculously, the papers disappeared as if they were on fire, and then a small circle of wind appeared on the table, followed by water, which began to merge with the wind, which soon disappeared, blowing a big wind into Esmeralda's face.

"Your magic elements are air and water." The principal took two books and a magic wand and then gave them to Esmeralda. The girl happily took the book and stick while smiling, looking at the principal and Marilyn who were currently smiling at her.

"Welcome new students, to Lafery Academy..."
