It was pitch dark, until one of those soldiers opened the bunker where all my soldiers and I were tied. How long have we been here chained and helpless? They are the beasts, not us, but they are free, and we are not. I dread the possibilities of what they can do to us. A lot of people have perished on this operation. Their screams still echo in my heart and mind, their faces lying apart from their bodies. Hands and legs bruised, Clothes torn apart, and the endless flow of blood. Only 10 of us survived, that too with broken limbs and spirits. 6 of us are women and 4 men. They can either kill us or torture us to death.
If you join us, we will help you. You can live if you cooperate with us."
I scoffed at their offer. As if I will,
"Are you ready to join us, woman?"
They must be delusional to think that I would ever help them. I hated them with every fiber of my being. They would pay for their atrocities; I swore to myself. I would kill them all, one by one. I will take revenge; I will avenge my people and my motherland from these monsters. I will kill them just how they killed us, mercilessly.
"I agree to cooperate." I extended my hand to seal the deal. They looked stunned. My people gasped in disbelief; how could I betray them? They hurled insults at me.
Miss Julian! How could you collaborate with those bastards?"
"They slaughtered our people!"
"How can you betray our own kind?"
"Enough!" I yelled, silencing all the objections with a gesture.
"Even the most faithful dog needs to survive, and you are only a woman. Welcome to Rotang, Miss Julian Everlongs."
THE WAR HAS JUST BEGAN!
