Jonathan stared at the phone after Cecilia hurriedly hung up, a faint, elusive smile curling at the corners of his mouth. He then turned and headed to Agente's room.
"Agente, don't go to school today. Rest at home!" Jonathan said.
In a while, he planned to call Cecilia again and exaggerate Agente's condition. Given Cecilia's nature, she wouldn't be able to stay indifferent upon hearing that her son was ill. She would likely come over herself. Jonathan wasn't ashamed of using such tactics. Since she wouldn't come to him willingly, he had to use Agente to bridge the gap. Agente was, after all, his only leverage to get closer to her.
Agente was still feeling weak. Although the medicine had helped a bit, he was back to having stomach issues in the morning. Despite this, he was determined to be a good student.
"But Dad, my stomach doesn't hurt anymore. I don't want to take a leave…"
