"I'm just going out to get medicine."
Farah glanced at his hand tightly gripping hers, knowing what he was worried about. Bruno still refused to let go.
"It's just a small scrape, I don't need any medicine, you don't have to go!"
It was only a minor scuffle with that man. He was sure the other man was hurt worse than him, though she might not know. Over the years in LA, he had been consistently working out and practicing Taekwondo to ensure that, should they ever be obstructed again, he'd have enough strength to protect her.
If not for the thought of seeing her again, if not for the thought of spending the rest of his life with her, he might have given up on life long ago. All his growth, all his endurance, was for the day when he could finally be her match.
"I'll be back soon. Where's the nearest pharmacy around here?"
