The police department issued a public apology, clearing Clarisse's name. As she nestled in Jonathan's arms, tears of relief streamed down her face. When they stepped out of the station, snowflakes began to fall. Though not heavy, the delicate snow created a beautiful, swirling effect in the air. The crisp coldness helped lift the heavy burden from their hearts.
"Let's go home, pack a bag, and I'll take you on a trip abroad to unwind," Jonathan said as they got into the car, gently brushing her cheek. He had long wanted to take her on a getaway, just the two of them without any interruptions. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to escape and shake off the shadow of recent events.
Clarisse hesitated. "Abroad? But I don't want to be away from the kids for too long. Why don't we bring them along?"
