Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: A Dozen Ferraris, Please

"Sure, sir." Zhao Wanting's heart fluttered at Ning Xingchen's casual inquiry. After all, her dream was to marry a rich and handsome man someday.

"This LaFerrari is Ferrari's flagship model," the salesgirl began. "It's one of the three great supercars, along with the McLaren P1 and Porsche 911. It's the new benchmark for supercars, limited to 499 units worldwide, priced at 22.5 million yuan. It features the most advanced hybrid power system, naturally aspirated engine, electric motor, and fully handcrafted interior."

Ning Xingchen smiled and said, "This car looks pretty impressive, and the lines are nice. I'll take it. Give me a dozen."

The salesgirl was stunned. Twelve? Does he think he's ordering beer at a barbecue?

"Sir, this car is 22.5 million yuan each. Twelve of them would cost 270 million yuan. Are you sure you want to buy that many?"

"I'll drive one for fun, keep one at home as a decoration, and give the rest as gifts. Can't I do that? Or do you think I can't afford it?" Ning Xingchen's tone turned cold.

"Sir, I'm sorry, I didn't mean that," the salesgirl quickly apologized, bowing repeatedly. She couldn't afford to offend this wealthy customer, especially since rich people value face greatly.

"Charge it to my card." Now that Ning Xingchen had plenty of money, this was a trivial expense. In fact, he was worried about not having enough places to spend it.

The salesgirl, seeing him take out his bank card, quickly said, "Sir, I'm sorry, but we don't have that many in stock. We would need to order more from abroad."

"Fine, I'll take one now, and I'll come back for the rest when they arrive." Ning Xingchen spoke as if he were choosing cabbages at a market.

"Okay, sir, please leave your contact information, and I'll call you when the cars arrive."

After carefully noting down Ning Xingchen's phone number, the salesgirl brought out the POS machine for him to swipe his card.

After the payment was processed, the salesgirl happily started to handle the paperwork for Ning Xingchen. The commission from just one car was enough for her to buy a small apartment in Donghai.

"By the way, Miss Zhao, let me know whenever you get the latest sports cars. I'm quite interested in collecting them."

"Of course, Mr. Ning, please call me Wanting. I'll do my best to serve you, no matter what you ask for." The salesgirl emphasized the word "serve" in a particularly suggestive manner.

"Alright, I'll contact you when I'm not busy." Ning Xingchen smiled, understanding exactly what she implied. He was in a hurry to see Lin Xun'er, otherwise he might have found a nearby hotel to "get to know" her better.

"It's my pleasure, Mr. Ning." Zhao Wanting smiled sweetly. She didn't expect Ning Xingchen to marry her, but even being a mistress to such a wealthy and handsome man would make her life secure.

Half an hour later, Ning Xingchen drove the incredibly flashy and cool Ferrari from the dealership to pick up Lin Xun'er.

...

On the way, he bought a large bouquet of roses to give to the girl he loved.

Finally, he parked the Ferrari in front of a bookstore in the city center. Holding the roses, he walked up to Lin Xun'er.

Hearing footsteps, Lin Xun'er looked up from her phone and was stunned. "Xingchen, is that you?"

"Xun'er, these roses are for you. My feelings for you have never changed." Ning Xingchen spoke gently, his gaze firm.

Lin Xun'er's face turned red instantly. Every girl knows what it means when a boy gives her roses.

"The roses are beautiful. I'll accept them, but we'll always be best friends." Lin Xun'er didn't understand why Ning Xingchen had been acting so strangely lately.

Despite the soft rejection, Ning Xingchen wasn't discouraged. Instead, he grew bolder.

"Xun'er, I like you. Will you be my girlfriend?" Ning Xingchen asked straightforwardly.

"I... I..."

Lin Xun'er saw Ning Xingchen only as a good friend. She liked him but wasn't ready to shift from friends to lovers so quickly.

"Well, since you didn't reject me, I'll take it as a yes. Xun'er, my wife." Ning Xingchen said dominantly.

"Ning Xingchen, stop calling me that, or I'll leave." Lin Xun'er frowned. She was conservative and didn't like being called "wife" before they were in a relationship.

"Okay, okay, I'll call you Xun'er." Seeing she was really angry, Ning Xingchen spoke anxiously. He didn't want to lose the woman he loved most in his second chance at life.

"That's better." Lin Xun'er pouted. Given their close relationship, she quickly forgave him.

"Come on, Xun'er, I want to take you somewhere." Ning Xingchen knew he had been too hasty.

"Where?"

He took her smooth, white hand. Holding hands felt normal since they'd grown up together and even shared a bed as kids.

"You'll see." Ning Xingchen said mysteriously.

"Where did you get this sports car?" Lin Xun'er asked, noticing it was valuable.

"I bought it."

"Bought it?" Lin Xun'er was shocked. Their families were similar, both from working-class backgrounds. She couldn't believe he had bought such an expensive car, especially since his family had been struggling with medical bills recently.

"Xingchen, tell me the truth, did you rob a bank?" Lin Xun'er finally asked.
