Chapter 8 - Chapter 8:Luck Plays a Big Role in the Lottery

Upon learning that the young man in front of him wanted to buy his private hospital, Chen Jingjun's first thought wasn't to refuse but to negotiate.

As he grew older, Chen Jingjun planned to emigrate to the United States and had already considered selling some of his domestic assets. With a buyer actively approaching him, he naturally welcomed the opportunity.

"One billion. I can transfer 20% of my shares to you," Chen Jingjun directly set a high price, stating his bottom line.

"Hehe, Mr. Chen, one billion might be nothing to you wealthy people, but for me, it's just dinner money. I don't want to be taken for a fool. As far as I know, the entire market value of your hospital is only around 1.5 billion," Ning Xingchen sneered.

"Who said that? It's not that cheap," Chen Jingjun thought the young man before him, despite looking youthful, was experienced and clearly not a naïve rich kid.

"Your hospital's director, Wang Dawei," Ning Xingchen smiled.

Wang Dawei remained silent, lowering his head. Chen Jingjun glared at him, cursing him inwardly as a useless teammate.

"Alright, I won't waste time with you. 1.5 billion, I'll buy all your shares," Ning Xingchen said, understanding that negotiations meant making compromises.

"No way, this hospital has a good reputation in Donghai City, and our patients are all high-end clients. The future market potential is huge," Chen Jingjun, an old hand and a shrewd businessman, naturally wanted to get more benefits for himself.

"Two billion, no more. With two billion, I could build a similar hospital myself," Ning Xingchen replied.

"Add another 500 million, and if you agree, I'll have my secretary draft the contract immediately," Chen Jingjun said through gritted teeth.

Ning Xingchen coldly smiled, unwilling to haggle further. "Deal."

Hearing these words, Chen Jingjun was overjoyed, fearing Ning Xingchen might change his mind. Without delay, he instructed his beautiful secretary to fetch a legal advisor and start processing the share transfer immediately.

Ning Xingchen swiped his card, paying a one billion deposit. After the contracts and agreements were signed, he would transfer the remaining funds to Chen Jingjun.

A day later, Chen Jingjun gathered the hospital's shareholders for a meeting, where he officially announced that Rod Hospital had a new owner: Ning Xingchen, now the majority shareholder.

Wang Dawei also had a small share in the hospital, only 3%. Witnessing Chen Jingjun cashing out a substantial amount, he wanted to sell his shares to Ning Xingchen to make a quick profit.

"Young Master Ning, why don't you buy my shares too?" Wang Dawei said, grinning and eager to seize this opportunity for a windfall.

Ning Xingchen, without a word, had Wang Dawei sign the share transfer agreement.

Seeing a string of numbers in his bank account, Wang Dawei was overjoyed, almost floating with happiness, and immediately pledged his loyalty to Ning Xingchen at the shareholder meeting.

"Young Master Ning, I will work diligently and faithfully as the director to achieve new heights for the hospital," Wang Dawei said ingratiatingly.

"Oh, there's no need for that," Ning Xingchen replied coldly.

"What do you mean?" Wang Dawei was stunned.

"Because you can get out of the hospital."

Hearing this, Wang Dawei felt as if he had been struck on the head, his face turning ashen.

"Young Master Ning, why?" Wang Dawei asked bitterly, not expecting to be dismissed.

"Because you're lowering the appearance standards of the hospital staff. You're ugly as hell, and that's reason enough."

The other shareholders present showed no reaction to this decision. Ning Xingchen was now the majority shareholder and had full control over Rod Hospital. He could do as he pleased as long as it didn't affect their year-end dividends.

Ning Xingchen wasn't vengeful; he simply felt that Wang Dawei was morally corrupt. A doctor should have a benevolent heart, but this man had long lost his conscience. Such a person as a director would eventually ruin the hospital.

Hearing that Wang Dawei had been dismissed, those eyeing the director's position began to find various ways to curry favor with Ning Xingchen. Even some freshly graduated nurses boldly confessed, promising to be obedient and versatile if Ning Xingchen made them the director.

For the time being, Ning Xingchen couldn't decide on a new director and would observe for a while longer. His only criteria were loyalty and reliability.

"Ding, congratulations to the host for completing the task and earning an S-grade free lottery draw."

At this moment, the system's voice sounded in Ning Xingchen's ear.

An S-grade draw, Ning Xingchen was excited just thinking about it. He hurried home, went to a quiet, secluded place, and couldn't wait to start the draw.

"System, what kind of good things can I get from an S-grade draw?"

"Unknown, anything is possible. The outcome of the draw largely depends on luck," the system replied.

"Hehe, then I have nothing to worry about. With my handsome looks, I should at least draw a cosmic battleship or something to conquer alien girls," Ning Xingchen couldn't control his imagination, especially after drawing a skill like Eight Extreme Collapse from a fantasy novel.

"Host, please stop being narcissistic. Shall we proceed with the S-grade draw now?"

"Draw."

"Alright, initiating the most powerful tycoon lottery wheel for the host."

Then, the familiar wheel appeared before Ning Xingchen. However, this time, there were twenty-four slots.

"Why are there more slots?" Ning Xingchen asked, puzzled.

"Because the S-grade draw is precious. If you draw divine weapons, they are extremely powerful. Hence, twenty slots are blank with 'Thank you for participating.'"

"What do you mean?" Ning Xingchen asked in confusion.

"It means only four slots have prizes. If the pointer lands on a blank slot, the host will get nothing and waste an S-grade draw opportunity."

"Damn, that's a rip-off," Ning Xingchen couldn't help but curse.

"That's why I said the draw depends on luck," the system repeated.

"I'm kind-hearted, good-looking, and always help old ladies cross the street. I refuse to believe I won't get anything," Ning Xingchen muttered but still felt nervous. The failure probability was quite high.

After all, he had finally earned an S-grade draw. Accumulating enough tycoon points for another one would take forever. So, this time, Ning Xingchen was determined to get something good, even if it was a technique to instantly increase his size by ten centimeters.

"Let's begin," Ning Xingchen said loudly.

The wheel started spinning rapidly, making Ning Xingchen's eyes blur.

"Stop," Ning Xingchen said. The pointer stopped at number 21.
