Chapter 42 - You Are Vicious

Ethan glanced at it and immediately became interested. That car was a car rarely seen in the country, a Rolls-Royce Phantom, a type of British car that embodies elegance and a regal temperament. Its lowest selling price in the country soared above 4,000,000. To be able to casually drive a car like that, that person's worth must surely be at least several hundred million.

After asking Mary to wait for her there, Ethan slowly walked to the side of the Rolls-Royce and then looked towards the driver's seat. It was difficult for his gaze to shift away. Slightly smiling, he said, "Have we ever met before?"

A beautiful city girl with a clear face sat on the pure black leather seat. She wore a pure white cotton dress and had a head full of beautiful black hair with not a strand out of place. On her pretty and delicate face were large framed sunglasses, covering half of that beautiful face. There was a stark contrast between the sunglasses and her skin color, revealing her proudness and coldness, and at the same time, her beauty that could make one's heart tremble.

The car window rolled down, and the beauty didn't even take another look at Ethan. Unenthusiastically, she said, "Get in."

Ethan was also not overly polite. He laughed a little, then entered and freely shifted his butt around, adjusting the height of the seat and shifting it back.

"There must be some misunderstanding, my staff think that you are part of my family.'' But he could not imagine Ethan having such a rich family when he was living in an old apartment with only a small amount of cash.

"Ha! So you are still in the mood of mocking me and insulting me when I have come to meet you after a year?" The woman did not take her jokes lightly but insulted him as if he were a fool. "Look Ethan when you have told me that you do not want to keep any contact with me, I have told you to lie low too. But now, not only are you fighting with people left and right, but you are also opening a business." she did not look pleased at all by the smile Ethan was showing her.

The woman shot icy daggers from her eyes. It looked like she wanted to kill Ethan from her own hands. She was only controlling because she had to.

The excitement Ethan was feeling before changed into a cold and mocking look.

He opened the door again but the girl pressed a button and the door was locked before he could leave.

"Your father heard about your recent activities and he had asked me to bring you to him. He wants to meet you," she explained trying to control her anger. She was holding the steering wheel so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

She looked like she would rather jump in front of a passing car and kill herself rather than drive the car and take him to his so-called father.

But at the mention of his father, Ethan felt a hint of curiosity. It had been a month since he had been living as Ethan but he never hated his family. David told him that he had never mentioned them so they all believed that he was an orphan.

"Have you gone mute now? Tell me what excuse shall I give this time that he would be convinced?" she spat with anger as she looked at him with annoyance.

She was sure that if she insulted him enough, he would leave the car and insult her. Then she would go to his family and tell them that she had tried her best but he was too stubborn to return.

She waited for him to burst as she looked at him, impatience laced in her gaze.

"Why do I need an excuse?" he asked back, confused. "If my father wants to meet me, I will go and meet him. It has been such a long time that I want to see him too." That was not something she was expecting. She blinked and stared at him as if she was trying to make sure that she had heard him right.

"You want to meet your family?" she repeated as if she really could not believe his words. Ethan raised a brow. His lips curled into a smile.

"Why? Do you not want me to meet them?" His casual words made her flinch. Her grip further tightened on the steering wheel but the reply did not come out.

She could not accept casually that she wanted to break his relationship with his family.

"Ha! I was only trying to help you. If you do not want my help then be it. But do not come to me running later asking for help. Once your family is involved, I could not do a single thing." she warned him coldly. But she still did not start the car. Somewhere she was hoping that he would take his words back or tell her that he was joking so that she could let him go.

"So… you do not know how to drive?" he asked, tilting his head and staring at her hands holding the wheel. She gritted her teeth. He was as nasty as she had remembered. Now he had become vulgar now that he was living in slums. With a stomach full of anger, she pressed the accelerator and the car rode off surprising Mary who was waiting keenly for Ethan to return to her side.

"Ethan Stone! No matter what happened in the ancestral house. I am not going to help you this time." the woman warned in a vicious tone only making him look excited. Just what kind of family did he have that she was warning him again and again!?

"Why would I as long as they pay me enough?" he asked back with his sweet laughter echoing in the closed car.

When the car drove off, she came out running but her feet could not match the speed of the car.

In the end, she stared at the phone in her hands.

"Ethan.. At least tell me if you will return or not."
