Chapter 43 - A Loving Family

About 10 minutes later, they stopped in front of a large villa. Ethan did not know about the area but it looked luxurious by the large door they had crossed and twelve guards guarding it. There was a large fountain and greenery around the villa. Ethan was sure that the land here was costlier than diamonds.

Walking past the gigantic fountain, Ethan followed the silent lady into the large villa; apparently, they all knew him. They all nodded and slightly bowed their heads as he crossed a large line of staff and maids working in this large villa.

The walls were covered with large paintings and portraits as he climbed the stairs. He recognized one of the portraits. The man in the picture was old, but Ethan was sure that this picture was of the same man he had found in his house.

He wanted to ask who the man was but the girl did not look back at him from the start to the end. She was forcing her heels on the stairs with much force and her face looked red, full of rage.

He ignored her and looked around. The frames of the pictures were made of pure gold. The vases and other decorative items around the house were too expensive too. All the things he had looted from Mikey last night could not compare to a single item here. If someone challenged him here, then he would take a lot of things from here.

She took the first room and entered. Ethan shook his head with a helpless look on his face as he followed her inside.

He noticed a middle aged man sitting on the chair reading a file with a slight frown on his face. The man was the one he had seen in the picture. The one he was curious about.

The moment they entered, a maid came forward.

"What would you like to have as a young master, mistress?" she bowed so courteously that Ethan stared at her for a second. She was dressed much better than Ethan who was wearing plastic slippers and dressed in casual pants and a shirt.

While the woman was wearing a perfect suit as her uniform.

It seemed that they all knew this strange girl well., taking off her sunglasses, revealing that countenance that could lead a majority of men's blood to flow, the woman said, "bring me mint tea, do not add milk or sugar."

"I will only have water." he smiled and sat with ease. Folding his one leg over the other. "Or you can skip that too. I am not thirsty anyway." The woman had an awkward expression on her face but she did not press Ethan. She only sighed and looked at him with worry before leaving.

The man who looked lost in his own world, finally threw the file back on the table and glared at Ethan.

"It had been four years, I thought you would have finally learnt your lesson when I heard that you are starting your business after goofing around for so long. But now i can see that you have not changed at all.'' The man looked like he wanted to beat Ethan. Yet his voice was full of disappointment and concern.

Ethan blinked and stared around. There was no one else in the room and the old man did look like he had a son older enough of his age.

"You are my father! Must you be so cold to me?" he was only testing the water but who would have thought that the old man would not refuse it but he would grit his teeth.

"Ha! So you do remember that I am your father even when you left me and this house long ago?" The voice held deep resentment that confused Ethan. This villa was full of luxurious things. Only a fool would leave such a place to live in that apartment. No matter how much he thought he could not understand the reasons Ethan had.

"Uncle, you do not need to be emotional. Your blood pressure would rise. Have you taken your medicines?" the girl asked in a worried tone. Without waiting for the reply, she stood up and picked up the glass of water for him.

The old man looked grateful. He took a mouthful of water and then closed his eyes.

"Ethan.. When I heard that you have opened the business, I thought you are finally accepting my conditions. If that is not the case, then you can leave. I will not follow you anymore." The man sounded much weaker and exhausted this time. But his eyes were full of hope when he looked at Ethan.

Ethan, who was an orphan, felt a strange sensation in his heart. Could there be a hidden secret he did not know like he did not know that he had a family? He kept looking at the old man without giving a reply.

The man felt agitated and slammed the table. The girl flinched and glared at him as if it was his mistake.

"Ethan, I have told you to not worry uncle. If you worry about him, will I send you back even if I get scolded later?" He looked back at her. She had warned him? Ha! She had only threatened him and dissuaded him from coming here.

"I am sorry." Ethan signed super singing the old man. "I have had an accident recently and I am still not feeling it. Can you explain things to me slowly so that I can understand them?"

The man's eyes widened. His worried eyes scanned Ethan closely as if he was trying to assure himself that Ethan was fine. Though he did not move from his place, his worry was overflowing in the room.

"Uncle, do not believe him."

"Enough, Nadia." The man raised his hand and the girl went silent at once. She bit her lips and glared at Ethan as if it was all his mistake. "Ethan, why did you not return home if you are suffering? Do you hate your brothers and your father that much? Even if you have issues with your mother, you should not suffer alone. You are going to stay here from today onwards."
