The elevator doors slid open, and I stepped into the familiar corridors of Sky Corporation's headquarters. The hum of the air conditioning greeted me as I hurried toward the meeting room. My heels clicked loudly against the marble floor, echoing in the silence of the empty hallway. I was late, and I hated it.

As I approached the meeting room, I could hear the low murmur of voices inside, a stark contrast to the usual calm that preceded my meetings with the staff. I pushed open the door, already prepared to apologize for my tardiness. But as I stepped inside, I froze.

The room was packed, but not with the familiar faces of department heads and managers I had been expecting. Instead, the long conference table was filled with men and women in crisp, tailored suits—people I had never seen before. They were older and more distinguished, and their eyes immediately snapped to me as I entered, a collective weight of judgment pressing down on my chest.
