The air in the room crackled with tension the moment the door swung open, and to my surprise, it wasn't Harry. It was Zoe.
Zoe, Sebastian's girlfriend.
She stood frozen in the doorway for a moment, taking in the scene — Sebastian and me sitting together on the couch, my body leaning toward him as if we had been lost in a world of our own. It didn't take much imagination to know what this looked like to her. I could see the confusion, the anger slowly contorting her face into a storm, her eyes narrowing as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"Sebastian?" Zoe's voice was sharp, accusatory, her gaze darting between us. "What the hell is going on here?"
Sebastian quickly stood, stepping away from me, his hands outstretched as if to placate her. "Zoe, it's not what you think."
"Not what I think?" Zoe scoffed, throwing her handbag onto the chair by the door. "Oh really? Because it looks pretty damn obvious to me!"
