For a moment, Harry stood still, his shoulders tense, his fists clenched at his sides. Then, without a word, he turned and walked away, disappearing into the house.
I stood there, staring after him, my mind racing. I didn't know what to feel – anger, sadness, betrayal. All I knew was that something had broken between us, something that might never be repaired.
"Are you okay?" My mother's voice broke through the silence, soft but concerned.
I turned to Felicia; my throat tight. I wasn't sure how to answer. There was no simple "Yes" or "No" to how it felt right now.
"I don't know," I admitted, running a hand through my hair. "I don't know if I can keep doing this. With Harry… it's like he's a different person sometimes. And Elaine…" I trailed off.
"Who's Elaine?" My mother asked staring at me and what does she have to do with this.
