Seth
Seth awoke feeling as if something hard and heavy had hit him in the head. It took a minute for Seth to realize where he was and what was going on. When it all came back to him he closed his eyes briefly. "I've got to stop ending up in bed every few hours," Seth sighed to himself.
"You've got that right young man," a familiar voice said from the corner of the room. Seth froze That voice could only be one person. Seth sat bolt upright and there leaning in the corner of the room Seth had spent so much time in was his mother Katie Malcovitch.
"Son I hear you've got yourself in quite a bit of trouble right?" Seth was out of bed before he could even think about it and wrapped in his mother's warm embrace. Tears ran freely down both of their faces.
Mom is it really you?" Seth asked almost unbelieving.
"Yes it's me Seth."
"Then They were telling the truth. You did know about this world after all."
"Yes."
Seth thought about it for a moment.
"What about father did he..."
"Yes."
"Oh." Seth looked at his mom and studied her as if seeing her for the first time.
His mom had bright complexion and with long and thick brown hair and intense silver eyes which might seem odd to some but to Seth who had pure golden eyes it wasn't so different. Seth's mom stood about five foot six so Seth who was five foot eight was taller than her. But she was built more like and agile cat than a track runner so Seth was probably faster than her as well. She had freckles on the left side of her face and when she smiled the freckles always seemed to ripple. Seeing that whenever they would share a laugh always ended up making Seth laugh harder. While Seth was smiling at the memory his mom was staring at him wither lip curled like there was something unpleasant about Seth now.
"What?" he asked. She started like he had pulled her out of some deep thought.
"Huh?" "Oh it's nothing I was just thinking of how I hoped you would never have to come here."
"What do you mean, you hoped I would never have to come here. From what I've heard it was only a matter of time." Seth pointed out.
His mother sighed "That maybe so but that doesn't mean I have to like it. You know? The school was going insane. Everyone thinks you've been kidnapped and the police have put out a missing persons case on you."
Seth froze, "Kidnapped" it was such a foreign word with what he had been experiencing lately that he didn't even understand what the significance of that was until a few seconds later.
They'd be looking for whoever was last seen with him and his mom might be one of the suspects. "Well I guess that it is only to be expected after what happened at the school but it could be a problem if we don't clear it up." Seth's mom nodded in agreement.
She stood up and then went to his bed and sat down. She patted the bed beside her. "Come on sit down I already heard what happened from Samson but I want to hear it from your mouth as well."
Seth got up walked over and sat down beside her. She reached out and put her arm around him. Seth didn't want to think about what had happened and it was even harder now that he knew it was true. But Seth thought he had already accepted all that had happened before his mom had even gotten there and he knew she wouldn't take no for an answer so he gathered his thoughts and began to talk.
