Chapter 5 - Cleaning Routine.

08:00am In Class.

Kaiden could be seen sitting in class with a wry smile on his face. His feat in the morning had travelled far and wide and the cadets were talking about while sneaking glances at him. Even some of the girls were openly winking and doing all sorts of seductive motions at him making him somehow regret it but the deed has been done and there was no going back.

Before long, the teacher entered the classroom, a huge whiteboard floating behind him. He was a middle-aged man with black undercut hair, pale yellow eyes behind a pair of black circular rimmed spectacles. He was about 6 feet tall with a slim build. A pair of miniature azure-colored wings could be seen on his forehead like horns.

"Quieten down kids. Today is the day we start your lessons on elements and some critical aspects of the institute's requirements. But before that, we have to complete this." The teacher said to the class.

"Yes, Sir Reindolf!" The cadets answered in unison.

"Good. Now in the institute, all cadets are required to do some side jobs which would be appointed to you by the institute's Management staff. Unless you are part of the SLB, no one is exempted from it. The jobs with their info will be sent to your inboxes. Remember, failure to do your job will amount to severe punishments.

You can check your inbox for your job before we continue. You have 5 minutes!"

With that, the cadets eagerly accessed their phones to check their jobs. They were anticipating jobs like assisting the staff, running errands for the SLB or something cool but their expressions changed from anticipatory to pure despair. Kaiden couldn't help but chuckle when he saw his job.

[Job: Cleaning.

You are to clean your classroom plus the space in front of your classroom. Everything cleanable is in your jurisdiction to clean.

It must be done at least, 2 times in a week.

Penalty: Internal Suspension plus a Cleaning Marathon for a month.

Rewards will depend on your work.

Good luck. We are proud of you.]

'I wonder what Echo and Greg got. Hehe.'

...

"I'm sure you all saw and read in detail what your works are. Good luck. Now let's move on with our lesson for today." Sir Reindolf said to them after the 5 minutes was over.

"What do you know about elements? Yes? Cadet April." He pointed to a short girl with black pigtailed hair and white skin and two twinkling blue eyes. She had this cute look and stature making them mistaken her for a 13-year-old girl, but they knew better, not when her face was cold looking with a hint of arrogance in her eyes, a clear trait of the Kanekos. As one of the nobles, they've surely heard a thing or two about her.

"Elements are gifts which were granted to us by the Ancient Being through the gods. Every element has its embodiment in the form of a god, and they grant us the right to gain a slight manipulation of their elements when we are legible to awaken." April explained with a cute voice.

"Good! Elements are more of representations of life itself. Whatever is in life, is in the elements. Peace, hope, love, joy, sadness, betrayal, death, life, healing, curses, illness, madness, pride, anger, war, cowardice, hypocrisy, name it... these are in the elements.

We have 11 elements and 10 variants of these elements, and they are Aether, Fire, Wind, Earth, Water, Shadow, Light, Nature, Metal, Psychic, Time, Lumina, Flux, Lightning, Ice, Blood, Plasma, Empathy, Illusion, Forge and Cyber." As he said this, the floating board lighted up and images of the said elements appeared on the board. They were so lifelike that the cadets felt mesmerized by how beautiful they were.

"These elements have races they are assigned to. Some races can awaken only one element, some two, some three and so on. So far, the Human Race is dominating in this context as we are known to be the most adaptive race capable of taking in anything throw to us.

The Dragon Race have affinities to Aether and Plasma elements, Elves have affinities to Nature, Wind, Light and Lumina, Dwarves: Earth and Forge, Demons: Fire, Illusion and Shadow, Chronomancers: Time and Empathy, Psions: Psychic and Illusion, Shamans: Nature, Wind, Water and Earth, Cybers: Metal and Cyber, Lycans: Earth and Lumina, Vampires: Shadow and Blood, Elementals, as you all know are just below the gods because of their nature and peculiarity and the we, the Humans, with affinities to almost all variants and all elements with the exceptions of Time, Psychic, Shadow, Metal, Cyber and Forge. Apart from those, we can awaken any element.

As some of us know, there are seven power ranks associated with elements and your comprehension of them. This ranking system is used almost throughout the universe with a few exceptions. The ranks are Nova, Pulse, Flux, Elite, Master, Transcendent and Apex. You automatically become a Nova Ranked Kaleek or Naturae when you awaken. Kaleek is an ancient term used for normal awakeners, who awaken through the Stones and the Naturae are those who awaken naturally, the so called blessed by the universe. Becoming a Nova is the first step to success.

There are also certain things involved in awakening and leveling up and that is how strong your elemental affinity is. Because of this, the world leaders managed to help the Dwarf and Cyber race create a device which can test elemental affinity, called the Affinity Tester, which can calculate your affinity rating. The ratings start from D and end at SSS, thus, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS.

The rating of your affinity will determine your leveling speed and the power and strength of your abilities. There are many ways to build affinities. As you don't know which element you would awaken, it is good to break through your limits through constant duels or training or you meditate frequently. If you are lazy, you will fail. Laziness has no place in the world of elements so if you want to become as powerful as those at the peak, then find a way to build your elemental affinity. Remember, you only have a week to prepare, so every second counts.

Also, your rank in the coming years will determine your position in the institute. Whether you would be just a common soldier or a Captain. There are even Squad Captains among the 4th years, and they enjoy a lot of privileges.

Let me tell you this, in the coming days, your schedules are going to be tight. Very tight and this will be our last class till you awaken. So, take this opportunity to ask any question on awakening and elements and the institute's agenda before we close."

The cadets showed surprised and crestfallen expressions when they heard Sir Reindolf's last statement. And so mastering courage, the began asking questions till the class was over.
