"Run along..." He said emotionlessly before moving towards the higher floors. The group of 15 scientists immediately ran towards the exit at their fastest speed, noticing countless headless direbeast corpses badly strewn on the ground.
"Did he do this?..."
"What an otherworldly sight..."
-- -- --
The entire crowd gathered at the entrance of the gigantic structure as they noticed the scientist pouring out like a wave from the building.
Asking them the same question, they all replied they met with a young man in an official suit who told them to run away.
This caused quite a commotion as they wondered just who the young man was.
-- -- --
CHOMP!
The headless corpse of gigantic bear-like beast slumbed heavily to the ground with a thud.
"Adavnced Tier Direbeast blood tastes like shit..." Jack muttered with disgust wiping blood away from his lips.
[The path to greatness isn't all sweet and cookies] AJ commented before getting shunned by Jack, "Shut up."
Just then, his eyes flashed an intense golden light as he could pick up on the energy and heat signature of what looked like a female human, the energy was flickering and weak.
Immediately running towards that weak source of energy, he arrived before it as his eyes returned to their fake black colour, finally getting a natural look of the figure.
It was that of a blonde-haired woman, lying on the floor and an incredibly deep slash mark on her torso, oozing with blood and dark gases.
Her breath was labored and irregular, a sign that Jack knew all too well to be that of imminent death. But taking a good look at the woman, he discovered she had a striking resemblance to the figure of the little girl who was screaming for help earlier.
Kneeling beside her, Jack pried open his briefcase, revealing the content of the strange case and it wasn't what anyone would have imagined.
It was a suitcase with a total of ten compartments withim.
Two of the spaces contained coldly gleaming straight but jagged, jet-black daggers with golden designs especially on the hilts, the shape of a skull with wings on both sides in its middle.
That was Jack's symbol. Just like how Gold and Black were his signature colours.
Beneath the two daggers spaces were two spaces, each containing black samurai blades with golden touches. The blades weirdly enough, seemed to be folded.
At the side of the two samurai blades was another folded sword, which although black still seemed to be glowing a faint purple. It did looked ominous as it sat in the fifth space.
In the sixth and seventh space were a pair of golden golden revolvers with black touching of course and Jack's signature (the skull with wings) carved on their bodies.
And lastly at the very top of those were small a set of three transparent vials with green serum in them.
[Would you look at this magnificent collection]
"Shut up."
Jack immediately picked up one of the glass bottles containing the green serum and popped it before opening the woman's mouth slightly and pouring it into her mouth.
There was no reaction at first but suddenly there were rapid heartbeats followed by rapid convulsions as Jack watched the woman slowly come back to life, a groan of pain escaping her bloody lips.
The slash marks on her torso began oozing with even darker blood before it slowly began closing up, healing at a visible rate.
With a feat of cough, her eyes slowly opened, the image of a young man entering her vision.
"Where..."
"Where is she...Where is Lisa?" The woman struggled to say as Jack raised an eyebrow.
"If you're talking about a white-skinned blonde-haired girl...she was the first to exit the building and was taken to the hospital. She's safe. But your injuries are worse, time we get out of here..." Jack said as he slowly raised her.
"No, no, no wait...." The woman screamed out as Jack raised his eyebrows.
"If you want to walk yourself, fine by me..."
"No, it's not that. There's still somebody, our base head. She's stuck in one of the rooms on the highest floor. Please help her out. She won't last much longer with the Night Werewolf..."
Jack's eyes narrowed as he looked at the upper floor before immediately running towards the stairs area.
"And please be careful, that Nigh Wolf is at the Emperor Tier." She warned but Jack's back had already faded away from sight.
-- -- --
The deafening beastly roar of a monstrosity rang out as it clawed forward, the air shrieking in pain as it was torn apart into two.
Quickly rolling on the ground, Sylvia avoided the slash, as she rolled up from the ground and stretched her hands forward.
Hundreds of ice shards slowly rose before drilling towards the wolf-like creature standing on its two powerful legs making it at a height of almost 9 feet
DING
DING
DING
The shards immediately collided with the wolf who wasn't able to dodge in time but the sound heard wasn't exactly the most pleasant to Sylvia whose brows furrowed in slight worry as she looked at the result of her attack.
Tho few ice shards impaled the wolf, they did next to no damage, the rest merely bounced off its body, a testament to its shocking defense.
The Direbeast's eyes became a darker shade of red as it speedily advanced, its sharp claws tearing through the winds.
GROWL
The soul-chilling sound could be heard followed by the sound of the floor vibrating intensely as the monstrosity ran towards her with full speed, its claws leaving a black trail in the air as it appeared in front of her, immediately slashing towards her neck.
Sylvia's eyes widened to the limit as she felt the feeling, the one she had never felt before...
The Feeling Of Death.
'Is this how it ends? No Night in shining armor for me?..."
She thought with a mocking smile as she resigned herself to fate when suddenly, from the corner of her eyes, she saw...a briefcase?
CRASH
The entire body of the large wolf slammed into the opposite wall at the other side of the room as part of the building crashed and fell on its head.
Looking at the direction where the briefcase came from, Sylvia strained her eyes and she could see 'him'; walking towards her through the smoke and dust that rose from the flight of the Direbeast.
..."Oh! My knight in shinning armour..." l
Stretching forth his hand, the metallic black briefcase flew back into Jack's palm with immense speed, not without hitting the bottom of the Wolf's jaw.
"It's a good thing none of my everyday gadgets are 'mere gadgets', never know when you'd be fighting for your life in a bathrobe."
"NGGGGGHHHH"
The sound of someone groaning in pain echoed in Jack's ears as he walked towards the source of the sound.
That was when he could see the lady on the ground, badly wounded with blood streaming down her purple lips.
"Can you walk?" Jack asked.
'He's talking to me!, this feeling...' Sylvia felt her heart racing as she placed one of her palms on her heaving chest.
"Can you walk?" Jack asked again.
This time Sylvia responded, "I- um, ye- I can walk!" Not without fumbling though.
"Good," Jack replied walking away from her and facing the Wolf who was already getting up and seemed quite pissed, "Get the hell out of here."
BOOOM
BAANG
The sound of battle rang out behind her as Sylvia struggle towards the door, to make her exit.
But before she completely moved out, she brought out her device and took a photo of the battle before quickly running out.
