"But..." Gwendolyn trailed off, not knowing what to say. She felt conflicted, knowing that she had no other choice, "but we can't stay here forever. I need to find Lord Sherbourne. He might be in deep trouble out there."
Lilian looked at her, her expression grave. "Lord Sherbourne isn't the man you think he is. He's not who he says he is. He's a liar, and he's using you."
"What do you mean? I don't believe it. He's the one who saved and protected me from the dark forces. He's a kind and honorable gentleman."
"He is," Lilian nodded, her eyes full of sadness, "but he's also the heir to the royal title and the old crown."
"But... how could you know that?"
"It's not important. What's important is that you stay safe. I'll protect you."
Gwendolyn looked confused. "But what about Lord Sherbourne? We can't just leave him out there."
"You have to. It's the only way to keep you safe."
