Vano paused, taking in the eerie stillness of the chamber. Everything around him seemed to whisper that he must choose a door, each one identical to the next, offering no hint of the mysteries they concealed.
"What now?" he muttered to himself, uncertainty gnawing at him. "Do I press on blindly, or should I choose carefully?" He sighed, the weight of the decision heavy on his shoulders. "Lerna would have smashed through one of these doors by now," he added with a wry smile then took a deep breath and squared his shoulders. "No turning back now," he said softly, reaching for the handle of the middle door. "Here goes nothing."
