Chapter 2:The portal
I feel like my heart just dropped into my knee, Zaya said, while Dina appeared to have been glued to a specific spot. Three enormous stones rose from the wreckage and settled directly on top of the ground, facing the west, east, and south.The three maidens were dressed in an all white attire,with their hands tied above their heads,while they walked in unison towards the stones .When Zaya stood in front of the stone facing east, it lit up and began to emit white smoke. Dina then slowly moved past Zaya to her stone facing west, which also lit up and started to emit dark smoke as soon as Dina stood in front of it.With all the smoke surrounding the place,divine found it difficult to locate her stone as she walked around in circles till she started seeing silver light.What! but I am no where near my stone.Even the priest could not believe what was happening before his eyes, Impossible.she could only whisper in dismay.
Laid out on the stones, all three maidens awaited their faith.The smoke around became heavier as time whisked by but it was taking longer than expected for the ritual to end,Many hours had gone by causing lamen to crease his brows..If he went for them personally, how could it be that they were not the best choice, as far as he was concerned?They have never been touched by a man which makes them pure before the alter.Lamen was about to chant the spell again when the portal started shaking causing everything around to tremble and fall apart,a dim light spread accross the woods in circulation and came blasting back like a force was pulling it back into the portal, dragging along shades of lights which was coming from the maidens the moment the dim light found its way back into the portal sending waves which swept lamen off his feet almost hitting his head.The portal with great force shut itself and the place where it used to be looked like a portal had never been there, sending chills down zaya's spine. Everything went still, leaves fell from both far and near.Lamen, who had covered his face with his cloth, was startled back to consciousness by a painful yell coming from the alter.Lamens eyes could not contain the image which was before him.Divine looked as pale as a vampire with dark circles under her eyes,with her skin so dry making her veins visible,The silver colour were slowly disappeaing from her hair as it was replaced with a black one.Im still alive? Zanya could only ask herself as she wiped the trickle of blood from the corner of her lips while looking over at Dina's stone.
At the precise moment Dina heard Divine's agonizing yell, she was struggling to stand and felt as though all of her energy had been drained out of her. Bloodstains could be seen on her left shoulder.Every time she attempted to use her power, she felt her hand go limb and failed to heal herself.Do not bother yourself child.All three of you are devoid of your abilities.Their heads snapped towards the unknown voice that belonged to the wise one from the land of the dark fairies .Well don't ask how I got in here because it should not be that much of a surprise dark wise one,Lamen chuckled as he walked over to zirus .His gaze turned serious as he remembered that zirus is only seen when there is a message to be.He was not the type to be in the open .Spill it,Lamen said with a stern look as he creased his brows impatiently waiting for what Zirus had for him.As you can see the sacrifice was spared,and I think the portal cealed itself,Lamen brought himself to say as he was out of patience.Wrong theory Lamen,the deep stern voice of Zirus was heard once again.The sacrifice was not complete because one of the maidens is not pure.
Among the maidens, one was included in the prophecy; the portal attempted to take her soul, but what was written was written, lamen stated, his fist clenched, looking over at the chosen ones.no one can change that.Disbelieve flashed accross lamens eyes but Zirus was fast enough to catch a glimpse of it which caused him to smirk. it could not drain their souls,it instead drained their power,Zirus explained as best as he could .Then, taking them back to their separate kingdoms, what should we do? the lamen asked, his concern concealed in his voice.To hasten their healing process, you should have them treated before allowing their families to hide them for a week.Following those remarks, Zirus was surrounded by a dense cloud of smoke and was quickly lost from view.The maidens were then sent back to their respective kingdoms were their treatments began without wasting any more time.

How could you do this to me? Just three weeks after my return and you and father are already planning my engagement? I told you it would be a disaster, divine's mother ,Seline could only facepalm as she tugged her hair,what if they come back for her,I can't bare to see my daughter become a sacrifice again later in the future,I might die.You know this happened because she is untouched.When she gets married,we wouldn't have to have headaches because we know the past will not repeat itself in the future.We can not be with her all the time, so it is only fair to place her in capable hands now that she lacks power.Darling,my husband, please consider my words and go ahead with the engagement without her consent.She will be appreciative of this action eventually.Ezekiel could not bare to see his wife in this state.He drew her into his embrace and stepped back to simply gaze into her eyes, softening as though he were giving Seline words of encouragement.

You don't have to say anything.You know I do not just make decisions over night; I thought about this one for days," he said, slicing through her words.Think about this .Think of what your union with Mr Grey will do for our people and for us,and especially for you.i know you are no weakling,you will figure this out yourself,and before I forget the wedding will be held at dawn.Just when divine was about to retort she was pushed back by a barrier her father cast around her room so she won't escape.She felt her body go limb for a second.Let me go! She tugged her hair so hard her knuckles turned white.The engagement and wedding came and went so quickly that before she knew it, she was moving out of her parents' house and into the grey mansion, and before she knew it, she was expecting!
