Subject: Marry Christmas 🖤
A draw?
Seems like we have things to be settled in 2023, uh. Could that be some luck?
And let me win? Are you insane? Don't go easy on me, A, ever. A gentleman? You? Well, you really does have the Anthony Bridgerton sauce, don't you? I doubt you are a gentleman.
You could be nastier than me, for all I know.
My year was... empty and totally around my work.
I visited my family out of the UK on summer, I spent a week there, the initial intended time was a month, but I couldn't handle being there without grandma. I don't have cockroach's blood, it was too much. I dropped by on the birthdays, just to make them aware that I was still alive and managing it.
I'm doing... better, I think. Not that much, but better. My health is in check, and I'm taking care of myself, I have to, since I only have me. Grandma would hate if I ignored myself and my health, and she would want me to live, so, I'll keep living, and pretend I'm playing a game to see who can outlive the other in age. Will I live more than her? I don't know.
No, I'm not dating, that got a laugh out of me. I'm as single as I've been for a long time, I had five hook ups in the last year, one night stands, just to try feeling alive, but they didn't really ignited that flame I'm looking for, inside me. I wasn't satisfied, which only frustrated me more, and the other times I tried, were because I didn't want to lose my touch. I don't know if it makes sense.
I'm in a Christmas business dinner with some old people above me and who were close friends with my grandma when she came around the UK and even when she was in her city. I went out to have some air, read your message, and reply.
Yes, I also have work tomorrow, I think it's for the best, the more productive I am, the less I think about everything. Except that we won't be able to talk much.
New Zealand sounds amazing, I've never been there, but it sounds magical, I hope she's loving it. I'm somehow proud of your baby sister for getting into Oxford with her boyfriend, and going for Law school. I almost went for Law too, but it wasn't for me. So, you're living alone now, uh, that's amazing, I hope you're enjoying.
I'm proud of you for doing so well on your work, A. I'm cheering for you on the sidelines, so you can get the position you're craving for.
I'll love to one day read your notes on the books. I read Crescent City right when it came out, so, I loved it, the 2nd one was good but I prefer the 1st. The summit part was just a masterpiece, ugh.
I'm glad you loved The Cruel Prince and Throne of Glass as well, the girls are literal Queens, they are badass and my type of protagonist. Cardan and Dorian are my babes, Rowan too, and I'm a sucker for Manon, she's a queen, absolutely perfect. And I get the emotional rollercoaster with ToG, I felt the same.
I'm proud of you, fellow potterhead, 🫂.
I approve that menu you're having, did you made the pizzas or did you ordered them?
I wish I was having pizza, but I'm confined in luxurious dwarf-sized portions of fancy food that are not even close to the taste of a homemade dinner. I'm in a fancy tight dress with stiletto high heels, and my hair is in a style that is already giving me a terrible headache, but I'm acting like it's nothing.
I'm having my bubbly Italian wine, so, it's a win.
I plan on leaving in an hour, so, I also won't have much time to talk to you this time, A, sorry. I would totally chose speaking with you over this dinner, but it is what it is, work like mine takes sacrifice, especially if I really want my promotion. I do.
Okay, if you think you're ready, I'll give it to you:
1. Cat & Mouse Duet, by H. D. Carlton.
2. Darkverse, by Runyx.
3. Gothikana, by Runyx.
4. Twisted, by Ana Huang.
5. Kings of Sin, by Ana Huang.
6. Stolen Obsessions, by Aurelia Knight.
7. Monsters & Muses, by Sav R. Miller (it has a Greek vibe that you might like).
8. Perfectly Imperfect, by Neva Altaj.
9. Souls Trilogy, by Harley LaRoux.
Obs:. Except for Gothikana, all have more than one book, and some are yet to be complete, there are various levels of dark romance here, so, just try and see what suits your taste.
I know it may be selfish to ask this, but if you could, read them by the physical copies, and add your notes. If we ever meet and you hand me your books for me to read your thoughts on them, I would like to see your thoughts on those.
Seven years now, A, it's a lot, innit?
All because of a wrong email.
I don't think the email was so wrong now.
Have a blessed 2023.
