Chapter 54: Exorcist Zero... Full Strength
The Kaiju Whisperer watched the city and let out another sigh. "My pets did a great job blessing thy city, so why do you want my head?"
She turned her gaze to the roof of a house not too far from where she stood with her primordial dragon.
"You freaking wretch!" Lady Taraha growled angrily at the hideous woman in the cloak.
The Kaiju Whisperer, as if a subject to Taraha, bowed her head before standing upright. "Wonderful to finally stand before the high and mighty Darkdawn. Shall I do more courtesy than bowing, or what dost thou want from me?"
Taraha was already infuriated by this being. She looked barely human but gave off a presence that made her even more disgusting.
"What are you? I mean, who are you?" Taraha took the interrogation phase first. Killing this enemy without gaining insight would do her less good. Firstly, she wanted to know who in their right mind would attempt to attack the Darkdawns.
"So you are truly the most reasonable one of the family, I see what he meant. I am a Kaiju Whisperer; we believe in the original salvation of the world," the Kaiju Whisperer raised her hands to the sky as though begging for blessings.
"--Salvation?"
"Yes, the time when Kaijus ruled the earth, the era where humans were meant to be food for the Apex beasts, the Kaiju era! Called the days of gods." The Kaiju Whisperer was surely deranged from the way she spoke.
"So where do I come into this foolish idea? What do you gain from this ambush?"
The Kaiju Whisperer shook her head in refusal. "I shall not share the future with a non-believer. All I can say is you shall hand the boy over, or I shall slit thy throat."
Taraha frowned even more upon realizing she was after Ruthar. "The only throat you will ever slit is the throat of a vocabulary pig!"
The primordial dragon growled resentfully, glaring at Taraha with pure bloodlust.
"It's not like I shall let you live from this encounter. My job is to ensure you all die here, although the boy lives on another day--"
"You only made one mistake, Lady Taraha," the Kaiju Whisperer smiled at her. "Ever since you have been standing there, I have been loading your nostrils with poison. Right now, sixty percent of your organs should have been affected. If you try to attack me, you will..."
The roof of the house gave a loud crackle as Taraha shot down from it, bullet-fast, plummeting toward the Kaiju Whisperer.
She was clearly done with the long talks.
The primordial dragon, seeing this coming, reacted to Taraha's quick speed, twisting around and swinging its large tail at her.
Taraha caught sight of the attack, diverting her sword and slashing at the dragon's tail. Unfortunately, the scales were too thick to penetrate, causing the tail to break through her defense and strike her down into the ground, raising pillars of dust.
"You think I will be unprotected," the Kaiju Whisperer bragged, waving her dragon to go after Taraha.
'I should finish this quickly before anything happens to Ruthar and Troma.'
Taraha rose to her feet, grasping the hilt of her sword tightly while making a sword stance to aid her speed and strength.
She heaved a sigh, manifesting a mana that transformed her sword from silver steel to a golden color. A golden cooling energy also formed around her, and as she was ready, Taraha catapulted off the ground at the dragon with incredible speed.
The dragon, in turn, sent out a roar followed by a chilling purple blast of flame from its throat—flames that would melt human skin at the slightest touch. Although, Taraha had already calculated that factor.
"KAYAAAHHHHK!" Taraha grunted, slashing her sword at the flame as she ran head-on through it. As she tore through the flames, dying embers of light coated the air, and the buildings nearby began to fall apart from the intensity of the attack.
"Ten percent! Exorcist soul!" she muttered to herself as the flames stopped. The dragon, feeling its efforts wasted, resorted to physical attacks, throwing down its claws at Taraha.
She weaved away from this attack with a leap, letting the palm rip the floor apart into a large gouge.
'I need an opening...'
As soon as she got her footing, she bent her knees in a crouching position and thrust herself into the air to attack next.
The dragon attempted to use the opening, snapping its teeth at her body. She maneuvered out of the way in mid-air, leaving the dragon to snap aimlessly at nothingness.
She landed at the hind of the dragon, plunging the end of her blade into it. Her sword made only a shallow injury that did not faze the dragon in the slightest. However, what came next did...
A wave of energy left the tip of her blade, making a much larger impact in the primordial dragon's body, causing it to give an ear-splitting shrill.
'Since it's just one enemy, I don't need to conserve much of my Exorcist energy.'
"I'm not done yet!" She pulled her sword from its hind, jumping closer to its neck, and swung her sword in a crescent slash.
A golden streak of light exited that crescent slash, meeting the dragon's hind neck and making a deep fleshy cut into it.
This disoriented the dragon even more, but Taraha was not done yet.
She continued her energy slashes all over the dragon, cutting through many of its body parts and mutilating it within mere seconds.
As forty seconds went by, the only thing left of the dragon were piles of meat and bones coating the cemented roads with an ill stench.
'I feel... what's this... it's unusual...' Taraha was covered in blood and more exhausted than she imagined she would be after killing the dragon.
Her lungs felt as though they were folding up, and her heart got tighter, making her breathing rapid. 'What is happening? I'm shaking, and my body is getting stiff. I cannot keep on fighting...'
"AHHHHHH-KAAAJAA!!!!" Taraha collapsed to her knees, vomiting a load of blood as the symptoms worsened. Now her inner organs were in deep agony.
'I can barely breathe... I'm... Damnit... This witch got me.'
"I told you, but thou kept your ears shut to my words. I cannot be defeated by the likes of you, especially after inhaling so much of my poison," the Kaiju Whisperer walked up to Taraha, reveling in her pain. "The primordial dragon you killed has blood that could be considered toxic to the human body. By killing my beautiful pet, you added greatly to the poison and sealed your fate."
'Shit, she got me... This pig is a mastermind. I hope Troma...'
"Don't think your brother has not met the same fate as you. He is currently poisoned by another of my dragons. Even if he survived the explosion, the poison will kill him," a maniacal grin grew on the face of the Kaiju Whisperer.
"It's just me and Ruthar Darkdawn now."
...I win...
'Damn...'
