David tore the paper until it was beyond recognition and threw it on the ground with force.
His wife took out her phone and read the details.
"Leonora, the real heiress of the RJ Cosmetics was bullied after the death of her parents. A lot of whipped marks were found on her body when she was taken to the hospital after being drowned in her bathtub.
The hospital had refused to share the details. But our secret sources had informed us that she was in a critical condition.
Not only that, but a suspicious woman had entered her room last night and injected poison into her body. Though the hospital was quick and efficient in handling the case, the little girl is still in critical condition and needs the blessings of the public. Our sources had dug deeper and found the company was opened by another Tycoon Benard and Ryan Stone, father or Elenora Stone and he was the maximum shareholders of the company but now his shares were divided by his younger brother David and his partner Benard while the girl had nothing in her name.'' She was so immersed in reading that she did not notice when David stood up and walked to her with a gloomy look on his face.
He snatched the mobile from her hands and threw it on the ground with more force.
"It is your daughter's mistake." he growled in a cold voice. "If she had been silent enough, nothing would have happened. But she used the whip on Nora when she was told to stay low." he gritted his teeth. His nerves bulged making his wife gulp.
She might hold the power in normal conditions but even she could see how bad it was.
"Who knew that the doctor held so much power? I have asked Stefan to bring someone who did not charge much money. How did this even happen?" She cursed the driver and blamed him for this mistake.
What she did not know was that Max only charges a minimal amount to see patients after his hospital hours but only sees four patients a day due to less time. She was extremely unlucky that he was nearby and charged too less for Stefan to choose him.
"Excuses! I do not need them." he ran a hand in his hair. "For now, I need a statement from Nora. As long as she would accept in front of the public that all these were blatant lies and we have never hurted her, we will save our asses. If that did not happen.." he did not continue but his grim voice and dark eyes told it all.
Sohpia gulped and nodded.
"Of course, you do not need to worry about it. Nora had never gone against me. All this news must be made by that doctor. He must be doing this to earn a good income from us. I know how to handle these kinds of issues well." she assured her husband in a sweet and complacent voice as she walked to him and leaned on his back.
"Ha! You are not going to do anything. I will handle this matter myself." He warned her, making her frown.
He had never handled Nora personally before. But before he could say anything further, his phone rang. She noticed Benard's name on the screen and his panicked expression too.
He walked at a distance before picking up the call and spoke in an extremely low voice. She strained her ears but could only hear bits and pieces. She wanted to follow him and know what happened, but she did not dare to look at his raging eyes.
When he returned, she stood there meekly, "alright, i will wait for your actions then. I hope.."
"Forget it!" he cut her off, "since you and your daughter had created this mess, you are going to clean it." he spat in a cold voice making her frown and look at his phone again. "I do not know what you do and how you will do it. But I need Nora's interview where she accepts that the news is only a lie. And the hospital had tried to brainwash her that her family was wrong when they had loved her dearly. Did you get it?" Sohpia rolled her eyes in her heart. But she didn't dare to act arrogantly in front of her husband when he was raging so much.
So, she softly nodded and accepted all his conditions. Cursing again over something, he glared at his wife before leaving from there.
Condensed vapor left her mouth as she sighed in frustration. Her fingers tighten into a fist.
"You wench! I know that you will create trouble one day. You should have died in the fire that night too. Your survival was the biggest mistake." She walked and picked up her phone from the ground only to see that the screen had shattered badly and it was beyond recognition.
Shaking, she went to her room and took out a new mobile from her closet. There were a dozen more latest mobiles arranged in the drawer.
Starting one, she dialed an unsaved number.
"Yes, I want you to act now. Yes, yes. Just half an hour would be enough." a smile appeared at her lips listening to the reply of the other party.
"That is excellent. I would be there in an hour. And to thank you, I will bring the latest winter collection dress of Chanel for you." She smiled at the reply and soon cut the call.
"You better apologize or you would regret all your life, Nora!"
