Sohpia opened the door of Nora's room and scanned it with a scowl on her face. Nora was living in a luxurious room when she was not even sick.
"Sleeping in the broad daylight. No wonder that you did not return home, you lazy pig." She cursed as she closed the door and walked toward the bed where Nora was sleeping without a worry. The more she looked at Nora, the more she felt like she was going to choke this girl to death. "You have ruined the peace of your family and now you are sleeping without a care! Ha! If you wanted to sleep that badly then you should have died when we sent the nurse to kill you." she cursed Nora loudly without a care.
She had paid a good amount to the nurse on round. She was sure that no one would disturb them until she left. She had even made sure to use the blind angle of the camera in the hall.
No one would know that she ever visited Nora. if something happened to Nora, their family could not be held responsible. But that would be for the worse. Best would be if this foolish girl cooperates, if not.. Her eyes narrowed with a sinister look in them.
She looked around and found a jug of water on the side table. She picked it up and threw the water on Nora to wake her up.
The girl flinched at once and started shivering.
"No, do not drown me. Please, I want to live. Please." Nora screamed at once with her voice quivering.
Sohpia paused for a second. She had already asked Penny about the accident. Penny had accepted that she had whipped Nora but she confirmed that she had not drowned Nora.
She had only locked the door and left her alone. But Penny could be lying. She looked fascinated with the looks of that cunning Benard. She gritted her teeth and glared at Nora. It was all her mistake.
"Who is drowning you?" She screamed in a cold and low voice, "you are asleep on your bed and yet you have the courage to accuse her. How marvelous." she hissed as Nora rubbed the water off her face and dazedly looked at Sophia.
She looked at Sophia as if she was looking at her for the first time.
"What are you looking at, your bitch? Lower your head." irritated that the girl dared to look straight at her eyes, Sohpia slapped Nora hard.
Nora whimpered but she covered her mouth with her hands and lowered her head at once earning a look of approval from Sohpia. She noticed how Nora was holding the sheets tightly until her knuckles had turned white and her confidence boosted. This girl was still afraid of them
"Did you read the newspaper?" she asked in a cold voice.
Nora shook her head in refusal. But she did not dare to speak a word.
"Ha! So you are only eating and sleeping in this luxurious room when you should be competing for penny projects and working in the kitchen. Forget it! I do not want to waste my breath in scrolling you when it leaves no effect. You are so foolish Nora. That no matter how many times we teach you, you do not learn a thing." her voice went more and more cruel and full of disdain as she scolded Nora and then exhaled a deep breath as if she was trying to calm herself.
She took out newspapers from her purse and threw it to Nora.
"Here, read it!" she paced in the room, "i can not believe that the doctor who took you spouted so much nonsense on us. Now I understand why he took you. He wanted to use you against us and charge us good money. Or he could be hired by the competitors to ruin David." Sohpue looked exasperated just by thinking about it.
"But you would not give them a chance. Right?" she demanded walking back to Nora and hovering over her slim figure. "As a family you would support your family. I will call the journalists and you will tell them that none of it was true and you did not know it was printed. It was the doctor who used you to demand money from us." her hands folded in front of her chest and her eyes narrowed at Nora when she did not reply, "did you suddenly get mute? Reply to me."
"Did Max ask for money from you?" asked Nora raising her head and meeting her eyes only to notice shock there.
"Are you talking back to me again?" She slapped Nora again. "You never learn your lesson. Do you?" When Nora still kept staring at Sophia straight into her eyes, Sophia felt indignant, "let me straighten this Nora. your parents had died at an early age without leaving a penny for you. You have been living in our house and leeching over us for a decade now.
And now you are trying to ruin us. Do you think I will let you do this? If I count the amount I have spent on your school and your mother necessities. You would die in debt. Do you want me to go that way?" she threatened Nora coldly. Sure that Nora would be scared like always.
But Nora only smiled at Sophia as if she was a fool. This was the first time she had seen these expressions on weak Nora's face. So much that she felt it was her illusion.
"But this newspaper said that I have all the money. My parents made that company and you have stolen it from me?" Nora raised the newspaper to show her aunt only to get a scowl in return.
"You ingrate! You are incorrigible." her hands reached for Nora's throat and she tried to strangle Nora with force. "If you do not help us, you are going to die with my hands today."
