I got to my car, and without wasting a single minute, drove straight to the Ironclaws. They were the only people who had helped us when we were at our lowest, and they were practically family to me. It was already bad that the letter they sent had been delayed for two days, wasting time to respond would only make us look like ingrates.
I hoped Monica was okay, she had gotten attacked because of Hayley, and I was not about to let Hayley know about that part. She would only blame herself and think too much about the entire situation, and she was in no condition to be doing any of that. She needed all the rest she could get, and needed to stay as far away as possible from news like this.
It took a while to get to the Ironclaw family house, the children were present, but there was no sign of the adults.
I parked my car and hurried to the front door, where I was greeted by one of the twins, a serious expression on his young face.
