Chapter 10 - 10

The chill Veronik was emitting was so dense, that the young master's teeth started chattering, unknown whatever from cold or fear. "Mo- Monster!" he screamed in fear, still unable to process the fact that Veronik's appearance suddenly changed.

That instant, Veronik's eyes flashed, and she lunged forward, grabbing the young master by his collar. "Monster?" she scoffed coldly. "Let me show you, what a real monster looks like..." she sipped quietly into his ear. Then, her nails on the hand she was using to grab onto the young master's collar extended into long claws, and she ran them along the young master's jawline, in a way that no one else other than the young master could see it.

Then, in front of the eyes of everyone in the room, she flashed a chilly smile as the claws disappeared. Momentarily, she closed her eyes and from the library in her soul, she learned a new skill.

With that done, she walked over to the servant whom she met for the first time on the street, and before he could even realize what was happening, she placed her palm on his forehead, and with him screaming in agony, she alerted his memories, so that he wouldn't remember her transformation. At the same time, she transformed back into the appearance of the petite youth and went on to everyone in the room to change their memories.

The only one who remained with untouched memories was the young master, and when he saw that the people clearly no longer remember what happened, deep feet overtook his body and he fainted.

When the people whose memories were erased saw that the young master fainted, they were all shocked. "Doctor, what happened to him?" the servant whom Veronik met on the street grabbed her shoulders anxiously.

But Veronik only glanced at him calmly. "I'll have to take a look at the young master first, to see what his condition is like." She calmly walked to the bedside and carelessly placed her fingers in his wrist. She acted like she was surprised by the condition, and frowned deeply.

"The young master is in a serious condition threatening his life," she spoke, seemingly direly.

Hearing what she said, the people in the room gasped in shock. "Doctor, can it be treated?" someone finally asked. It was the city lord who just entered the room and heard what Veronik said as he was entering.

Veronik didn't even turn to look at the city lord, as she didn't know who he was. She only nodded slightly. "Though full treatment is impossible, the young master's life can be saved." She lied again.

In that instant, the city lord looked at his son worriedly. "Doctor, ask for anything you want as long as you can save my son. Many doctors have looked at his condition, but didn't discover anything. The fact that you have already discovered the sickness already shows that your skills far surpass theirs." The city lord would have never dreamt that someone of no status would dare blatantly lie to him, and that's why he thought that Veronik was highly skilled and knew a cure for something the other doctors didn't even notice.

It was indeed true that Veronik was highly skilled, but the fact that she could "diagnose" the young master's "condition" was only because she made up the "diagnosis" as she was pissed of by the young master, and even before he annoyed her, she was quite upset because of all that happened, so the young master just ended up as a punching bag for her.

Veronik glanced calmly at the city lord, understanding what his identity was, and she sneered inside her mind. "The young master is showing the symptoms of serious leukemia..." she used a name of a sickness from her past life, as she could be sure that such a sickness wasn't known in this new world. "When the young master wakes up, he may, or may not, spot nonsense as a result of hallucinating before fainting. Basically, the sickness is dangerous because it corrodes his spiritual energy. Once it completely destroys his spiritual energy, it will start corroding his organs, but he won't feel any pain. When the corrosion of his organs begins, he will wake up, and I'll then have to take action to take the sickness under control."

Veronik completely made up the symptoms, by mixing the symptoms of the sickness of this new world she was in, so that the city lord would believe her.

"Whatever the young master does or says when he wakes up, at all costs, he has to be kept lying down, without any chance to retaliate against the treatment. He will most probably be still hallucinating when he wakes up, so he will be highly aggressive and spouting nonsense, but that's only because of the sickness. One of the usual symptoms of the sickness is calling unknown people shape-shifting monsters.

Just as she finished speaking, the young master started opening his eyes and waking up. "Quickly! Hold him down!" she ordered two servants standing at the side of the room.

They stepped to the bed and before the young master could even fully wake up, they held his hands and legs, to prevent him from moving.

Instantly, the young master started roaring at them to let him go, but then, he saw Veronik and started shouting that she was a monster and a witch and that she needed to be quickly killed.

Hearing the young master's outburst, everyone present was shocked, as the "symptoms" he was showing, were exactly like what Veronik said a moment ago.

Veronik snickered in her mind and walked towards the young master. "Young master, this will hurt!" she said, seemingly apologetically, as she placed her hand on his neck and a needle appeared in her hand. She stabbed it into his temple and another one into his other temple. Then, the young master stopped struggling, and only laid on the bed weakly, but his eyes were still clearly focused, filled with terror and fear as he looked at Veronik like he was looking at the incarnation of devil.
