Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: I refuse

{{Welcome Player Valmus to Vestia Online.}}

Valmus spawned inside his rented room, he stretched for a while before leaving the room. He then went to the various NPC shops and begin to sell all the excess materials he had.

He then visited an Alchemists and showed them the Obsidian Tree branches and it's leaves.

The Alchemist nearly bawled his eyes out as he held the material with trembling hands

" Young man....t-this is the Delhia Tree branches and leaves, it's an Epic material for Potions and making Staves. I-i cannot purchase this, my alchemic skills are too low to bring out it's full capabilities, you should sell it once you enter the City or Town. It will at minimum give you 100 Gold coins...." he paused not sure how to proceed before finally gathering whatever it was he had been gathering and spoke.

" I don't mean to pry but....d-did you perhaps harvest it's Fruits? They are said to be able to increase once vitality and Mana while also granting them an affinity towards Shadow or Darkness Elements, some say it can even strengthen your physique and raise it's constitution," he explained drawing deep breathes.

" Ahhh that, I left them, my storage was full at the time.... if I'd known they were that precious I would have stopped gathering Wolf Pelts and Fangs," he faked a bitter sigh while revealing misleading Intel.

" Ahh the wolf area, it would have indeed been a loss if you hadn't gathered as many materials, ohh well it has already happened, thank you for showing me the Epic materials young lad." The Alchemist smiled.

Valmus smiled back while leaving but his eyes soon turned cold

' I made a rookie mistake that'll ride up my ass soon, never show your valuables to a stranger without knowing it's worth unless you trust them

That guy....it's not that he couldn't buy it, it's just they he wouldn't need to after taking me out of the picture

Damn my shit luck now I have a new problem, I would soon be a mercenaries Hunt, I'll have to hasten my plans and venture to the Cultists base,' he rushed to a certain street vendor who was about to open her shop.

" Excuse me, would you be interested in a trade?" he asked with a warm charming smile

***

" Come on hurry up, we'll miss the good stuff Marie!" Urged a brown haired boy with blue eyes.

He was breathing heavily as his steps became quicker as his hand held the arm of a girl who was struggling to keep up.

" I-i.....sh..ould have i-invested more i-in Endurance," she complained breathlessly.

They then stopped Infront a crowded vendor shop where players had gathered

" Listen here...I'm telling you that I'll buy out everything why are you making it so hard!!" A red haired Woman complained in frustration

" Like I said lady, it's called a bid for a reason, I can't just have you buy out everything. What will the other players get?" a masked man asked his voice laced in consideration.

" That's it I'm tired of this farce!" A tall man with a large build shouted as he equipped his weapon which was a Common sword.

" Give me everything you have and I'll let you play the game in peace, if you don't me and my guild will hunt you down whenever you spawn until you fall back to level 1," he threatened as a few more dozen players equipped their weapons

" And you are?" Valmus asked feeling a headache coming along, the Nine Heavens had their fair share of arrogant young masters, he did not want to deal with another as his means were rather brutal.

" I'm Hang Rong, Second Captain of the Aquarius Guild!"

He replied loudly drawing more Player attention

" Alright so Hang Rong....why the fuck would I give you my things? Are you stupid or something?!" He questioned his tone as disdainful as it could be.

Just as Hang Rong was about to lash out Valmus spoke first silencing him and his band.

" And before you start with your Young master Complex, why not think with me, you Spawned in Black Water Village and could not level up as fast as you thought you could.

You then fail to even change your weapon and as your funds are not enough to go against the other bidders you chose to get what you want the only way you know how to, by violence.

You then fail to consider that for someone to set up a stall and auction uncommon Grade items to Rare itsms, they'd surely have enough strength to defend what's theirs.

And yet at the end of this thinking session you'd still lash out thinking that I embarrassed you despite me trying to dumb it down to your level," he concluded as he locked eyes with Hang Rong whose face was red from anger and embarrassment.

Valmus sighed before tapping the vendors shop, he stored all his items inside his Inventory and stood with his hands behind his back not Equipping his weapon.

Hang Rong charged followed by his Guild mates slashing towards Valmus

{{ You have been Attacked by Players. You can retaliate without consequence.}}

Valmus dodged and evaded while countering with palm strikes, punches and kicks.

' Hang Rong, if I remember correctly he's the Second Captain of a Prime level Guild, a level below Behemoth.

He's however unimpressive no style, no form, nothing just reckless attacks

Should I eradicate him? Nah it's not worth it, not yet anyways.'

" Well this has been disappointing...I don't have all day," he backed away adopting a martial stance

" Try not to Die!" He warned using an overwhelming Fist art he learnt from his past life, his mana was heavuly consumed as he attacked.

<< One Palm to shatter the Heaven: Ascending >>

He bellowed as an overbearing Aura manifested around him, he striked forward as an illusionary Palm stretched out attacking the entire lot of Aquarius Guild members.

-60,000

-60,000

-60,000

.....

Similar damage values appeared above the Aquarius Guild members as one after another they dropped dead, worst of all they all dropped their Gold or items.

" You! You killed them?! Killing inside the village is forbidden!" the red head shouted but to her dismay Valmus did not even spare her a breath.

He gathered the dropped coins before finally addressing the bewildered crowd

" It's seems I have more stock, now the bid will change a bit.

Buy one get one free, the free of course is time limited as there's only thirty-ish Free pieces," he smiled despite his face not being visible it was still charming to say the least.

The players awoken from their shock begun to bid frantically, soon all of Valmus' stock had been sold out.

Just as he was about to leave a man approached him, they stared at each other briefly before the man finally spoke.

" Valmus I presume?" he asked drawing the players attention, some had speculated but none had dared to outright ask him directly

" It depends who's asking?" Valmus countered his mind churning countless of thoughts.

" I'm Baldur, Captain of the Leo Guild," he Introduced, " I would like to..."

" I refuse," Valmus interrupted effectively silencing the man, pin drop silence filled the once bustling Vendor shop.

Who didn't know Baldur the Strategist of Leo and one of it's Captains, he who is termed the brains of Leo Guild got rejected before even voicing his offer!

" Would you kindly listen to the end, I can assure you our contracts are the best among the Prime Guilds," he tried to coerce but...

" I said I refuse, why would I suddenly change my mind? Now if you'll excuse me," Valmus begun to walk but his arm was held by one of the two people who had come along with Baldur.

" What gives man? Just listen to his offer?" the man questioned as he tightened his grip

" Unhand me." Valmus stated coldly.

" What didn't you hear me just listen to..." The man fell silent as his head rolled and his body collapsed on the floor faster than anyone could react.

{{ You have attacked a Player within the Village. You'll be penalized if you die.}}

" I dislike being threatened more than anything Baldur, keep that in mind because next time....I might do more than incapacitate a mere outer member, Understood?" he asked calmly not turning back.

His Aura spiked, draining his reserves rapidly, pressing down Baldur who fell flat to the ground.

Valmus finally turned his head looking down on Baldur who was having trouble breathing

"Understood?" he asked again to which Baldur struggled a nod.

Valmus them walked away disappearing into the forest leaving a crowd of shocked players and a loathing strategist.
