Chapter 3 - Feather Village

"Mana Grass, 1 silver coin only! buy now!"

"Crystal Leaf, 20 bronze coins for five pieces! Effective for absorbing mana!"

As Asroth looked around, he was amazed. Beside him was Asrah quietly walking.

Feather Village was so lively today with people planting at one end and others selling herbs that used to speed up mana absorption.

These herbs are also used as ingredients for making Magic Potions.

In another part of the village, various weapons were displayed. Gleaming weapons could be seen: swords, bows, spears, and even chest plates.

There were mortal hunters and several Mana warriors at the 1st and 2nd levels of Gathering Mana, looking for weapons to choose from. The main livelihood in Feather Village was hunting.

During hunting, if hunters got lucky, they sometimes found rare herbs that could be sold for a high price. Additionally, there were legacies hidden in the forest from powerful, now deceased Mana warriors.

If they managed to capture a Magic Beast, its meat would fetch a high price, and its bones were also useful.

The bones were used to forge powerful weapons that were more durable than those made of metal due to the mana enveloping them.

Asroth also considered hunting to earn money to support his needs if he wanted to become a powerful Mana Warrior. Being a Mana Warrior was costly because they needed to buy rare herbs to aid mana absorption and grow stronger.

Sometimes, hunters formed squads to hunt more quickly and safely. The downside was they had to share their catch, and occasionally betrayals occurred.

Asroth had no intention of joining a hunting squad because he preferred working alone.

They both stopped in front of a vendor selling Mana Grass to buy some.

"Asroth, let's not buy that. We need to save money. I know you're running out of it," Asrah protested.

Asroth shook his head before speaking.

"We need this to speed up your mana absorption, and I'm planning to go hunting, so I'll take care of the money."

"Hunting? That's dangerous..."

Asroth shook his head.

"I won't go deep into the forest. I'll just follow the river and maybe get lucky," he replied to Asrah.

Asrah was amazed now because she knew Asroth was afraid of entering the forest.

After buying the Mana Grass, they walked to the Weapon Shop.

Asroth saw that a bow cost 50 silver coins, excluding the arrows. It would be useful for hunting, but Asroth didn't have enough money.

He had only 18 silver coins left.

He looked at the weapons again and noticed a dagger. It was only 5 silver coins, so he immediately bought two.

With his experience, Asroth was confident in using them. They could also be thrown at a target if needed, so he was pleased with his choice.

As they walked back, Asroth handed Asrah the two Mana Grass he had bought.

"Thank you..." Asrah said softly and shyly.

Asroth smiled and nodded.

"I'll buy you more Mana Grass next time," Asroth said.

Asrah smiled and felt a warm sensation in her chest.

Afterward, they continued their walk home.
