Chapter 33 - Reawakening

The first light of dawn seeped through the base, casting a pale glow over the goblins who remained on high alert. Lesley woke early, her heart heavy with worry. She tiptoed past Jarvis's door, not wanting to disturb his rest, and made her way to Akira's room. Her heart sank as she saw him lying motionless, unchanged from the previous night.

Lesley sighed, suppressing her rising panic, and decided not to wake Jarvis. She turned to the kitchen, determined to prepare breakfast for the goblins. Meanwhile, Akira's unconscious mind was far from silent. Within the depths of his mind, he was navigating a vast sea of knowledge, absorbing and comprehending at an astonishing rate.

"Alfred," Akira called out in his mind, "why didn't you inform me about the side effects of absorbing all this knowledge?"

Alfred, his AI companion, responded, "I anticipated some minor effects, possibly a mild headache, but I miscalculated. It resulted in your current coma state."

"How long have I been like this?"

"It's been an entire night and a few hours into the new day."

Akira's concern for his companions surfaced. "I hope I haven't caused too much trouble. How much longer until I wake up?"

"Approximately three to four minutes," Alfred replied.

"Alright, that's not too long," Akira mused, preparing himself for reawakening.

Jarvis stirred from his sleep, his body aching from the previous night's ordeal. He quickly dressed and hurried to Akira's room, only to find his master still unconscious. Worry gnawed at him, but he pushed it aside and headed to the kitchen.

As Alfred completed the final integration of knowledge, he informed Akira, "The information is now fully implanted. You are ready to wake up."

With newfound knowledge and a deeper understanding of the world, Akira's consciousness reconnected with his body. His eyes fluttered open, and a goblin, noticing the change, darted off to inform Jarvis and Lesley. The goblin rushed down and started jumping while pointing his hand upstairs.

Akira spread his mana to every corner of the base, using it like echolocation. He could now perceive his surroundings with a new, more precise method. It was more accurate to say that Akira could sense things with his mana. As he extended his awareness, he sensed all the goblins and hobgoblins, Jarvis and Lesley coming upstairs, three people tied near the backyard and he also sensed the injured horse. Its condition was dire, with an arrow lodged in its back leg. If not treated soon, the horse would surely die.

Jarvis and Lesley exchanged a glance and rushed to Akira's room. Just as they burst in, they saw Akira standing, and before they could speak, he vanished. Shocked and confused, they looked around wildly.

Akira reappeared in front of the injured horse in the courtyard. The goblins, and even the tied-up bandits, gaped in astonishment as he materialized out of thin air. Akira placed a hand on the horse, healing its wounds and pulling out the arrow. The horse neighed softly before falling into a peaceful sleep.

"Let the horse rest until it wakes up on its own," Akira instructed the goblins before vanishing once more.

Back in the room, Jarvis and Lesley were still trying to process what had happened. "What just happened? Where did Master Akira go?" Jarvis exclaimed, his hands on his face.

Lesley, trying to sense Akira's presence, said, "I can feel him; he's nearby."

At that moment, Akira reappeared in front of them. Jarvis nearly jumped. "Master, what was that? What just happened?"

Akira smiled calmly. "It's nothing to worry about. I used teleportation."

"Teleportation?" Jarvis echoed in disbelief. "I thought it was lost to time."

"I rediscovered it," Akira replied nonchalantly. "Now, I'm hungry."

"I'll prepare breakfast right away," Jarvis said, hurrying to the kitchen.

As Jarvis began to cook, Akira turned to the goblins. "You've done well. Now, take a rest."

The goblins bowed and left to find places to sleep. Lesley, her eyes teary with relief, smiled at Akira. "I'm just glad you're okay, Master."

"Don't worry, Lesley," Akira reassured her. "Nothing will ever happen to me."

Akira then teleported to Alphagob, who was standing guard at the front gate. Alphagob bowed deeply. "You should rest. I can sense your exhaustion," Akira said.

Alphagob nodded and went to his quarters. Akira moved to the roof, instructing the hunters to rest. They beamed with pride at their master's return and quickly obeyed.

Akira then approached the young treant in the courtyard. As the creature tried to wrap its limbs around his leg, he poured mana into it, calming it into a deep sleep. With a final task in mind, Akira teleported to the bandits tied up in the backyard.

The bandits' eyes widened in terror as Akira appeared before them. "You must be responsible for the bloody arrow in my room and the injury to my horse," he said, his voice cold.

As he raised his hand casting a white ball of pure mana, ready to punish them, Jarvis's voice called out. "Master, the food is ready."

Akira lowered his hand and smirked. "You're lucky. I'm hungry right now. Thank Jarvis for now. I'll deal with you later."

He teleported to the kitchen, sitting down at the dining table. The aroma of breakfast filled the room as Jarvis served the food. Akira ate heartily, savoring every bite.

"Now that I've had a good meal," Akira said, "tell me everything that happened last night. I want every detail."

Jarvis nodded, recounting the events—the fear of an assassination attempt, his perilous journey to the city for potions, the attack by bandits, the mark on his face, injured horse, and Alphagob's timely rescue. Akira listened intently, piecing together the scene from the evidence left behind: the tied-up bandits, the wounded horse, the bloody arrow in his room.

"You did well, Jarvis," Akira said, pride evident in his voice. "In my absence, you handled everything admirably. But next time, you won't need to put yourself in danger. I plan to make this base self-sufficient soon."

Jarvis, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders, nodded. "Thank you, Master. I'll always do my best for you and clean the bloody arrow right away".
