Chapter 34 - The Master’s Ascension

Meanwhile, Jarvis decided to tidy up Akira's room, intent on restoring order after the chaos of the previous night. Akira stepped outside, his eyes settling on the carriage. He picked up a few ore pieces, then moved to a nearby tree, breaking off a sturdy branch. As he approached the injured horse, he noticed its color slowly changing from brown to black, and it had grown noticeably larger in a short while. The horse was in a deep, restorative sleep.

Turning his attention to the captured bandits, Akira called for Betagob, who joined him on his walk to the backyard. Akira instructed Betagob to carry the bandits to a secluded area. With a calm yet menacing demeanor, Akira made a large hole with a wave of his hand, announcing it would be the bandits' final resting place. The bandits struggled and screamed, their eyes wide with terror, but their efforts were futile.

Betagob grabbed the first bandit, holding him beside the hole. Akira extended his hand, and sucked the soul out of the bandit. The lifeless body fell into the hole. He repeated the process with the remaining two bandits, their souls extinguished and bodies discarded. As he closed the hole, he took the ore and branch, swiftly crafting an ax with practiced precision. Handing the ax to Betagob, he instructed him to give it to the goblin whose dagger was given for Jarvis's mission.

Akira teleported to the carriage, placing his hand on the ores. They vanished, stored in his new spatial magic space. He then teleported to his crafting room, beginning the meticulous process of converting the raw ores into their respective mineral bricks. The goblins had gathered an impressive array of ores: adamantite, mythril, copper, and iron. Akira transformed them into pure forms, storing them in his newly created inventory space.

As he worked, Akira's thoughts drifted to the newfound knowledge he had absorbed. The understanding of magic in this world was primitive; people believed in only six types of magic, but he knew there were many more. Lightning, dark magic, spatial magic, holy magic, and others yet unknown to him. Light magic was misunderstood because people of this time have been using it as a combination of light, holy, and spatial magic. Teleportation, a part of spatial magic, bent space to connect two points. Akira realized he was an anomaly in this world, and the world, a living entity, would try to restore balance by opposing his existence. He needed to be prepared for the inevitable confrontation. This explains why two raids occurred near his location. For now there were just minor raids because he was weak back then but now that he is a lot stronger what things might come his way.

By evening, Akira had finished converting the materials. He teleported to the backyard, then made his way to the kitchen. Jarvis and Lesley were preparing dinner. "I'm going to meditate in the backyard. Do not disturb me, no matter what," he instructed, his voice calm yet commanding.

Outside, Akira raised a small platform, sitting in a meditative posture. He began drawing mana from the atmosphere, storing it within his body. As he meditated, he pondered the nature of evolution. Monsters evolved by consuming the meat of stronger beings, and humanoids like dwarves, elves, dark elves, demi-humans, and humans evolved too but this knowledge is lost to this time. The progression went from their basic form to higher beings, then to champions, demi-gods, and finally gods. Each evolution exponentially increased physical and magical abilities. No matter how much a basic human trained or how talented he is, he can never match the level of a higher human. For a human to evolve into a higher human, they needed to devour 1,000 souls of humanoids, and the requirement multiplied tenfold with each subsequent evolution but the level of power increased by 100 folds.

Akira was gathering mana not only to strengthen himself but also to empower his troops and recruit new followers. After two hours, he stood, the platform returning to normal. He gathered all the goblins and hobgoblins, instructing them to close their eyes. Pouring his mana into them, the mana that akira was pouring into them was so pure and dense that this process put them into a deep sleep.

Jarvis arrived, observing silently. Lesley joined, equally speechless. Akira teleported behind them, placing a hand on each of their heads, infusing them with mana. The shock rendered them speechless, and they quickly fell asleep too because of the mana flowing in them. Akira caught them, teleported them to their respective beds, then moved the sleeping goblins and hobgoblins to their shed.

Back in his crafting room, Akira began forging many good quality steel weapons that could be sold in the city after that he began forging an adamantite sword with mythril veins, adding several powerful enchantments. "This is for Alphagob," he said with a satisfied smile. Finished with his work, he teleported to the roof of his house, continuing to absorb mana. He needed an army—one that worked tirelessly, with absolute loyalty, and required no sustenance. "I need an undead army," he mused, a smirk playing on his lips as he envisioned his plans coming to fruition.
