Chapter 1 - 1. SEE - ME

1. SEE - ME

Kay blinked again, and it was gone again. The fixture of an hazy image. "Was I hallucinating again?" He muttered as he pushed his glasses back and clutched his schoolbag tightly as he entered the school gates.

He was a typical high school student and something of a nerd. His first year in highschool and he was already branded as a loner.

He disliked fights and was constantly picked on because of his sheepish and shy nature.

Class that day went as usual, but he was oddly quiet more than he usually was. Kay had been seeing the the recurring image of a shadowy figure, for months he had thought his glasses were faulty or he was hallucinating.

But the shadowy figure was starting to look more real. It felt like it was getting closer, which made his skin crawl.

It reminded him of a rhyme used to scare kids when he was much younger.

It went like this:

"They don't see you till you don't see them."

"The more you see them; the more they come to you!"

Kay trembled by his desk as his gaze transfixed on the shadowy figure standing by the school gate staring right at back at him. Its eyes glowed ominously.

"Gollum!" He took a large swallow. "Kay it's not real, its nothing real."

He repeated this to himself several times.

However, his gaze never left the figure.

The bell rang.

Kay kept repeating his mantra.

A group of boys, walked up to his seat where he sat down reading his textbook diligently.

"Look at this, guys. Glasses is reading," one of them said, laughing.

"He is a total nerd." Said another. "Kind of cute, too."

Kay trembled visibly, burying his head in his book, hoping they would leave. His well-trimmed wavy black hair would soon become a sloppy mess.

They were the only students in the class. The bullies' leader, a Korean boy with brown hair named Hong Su Man, sat on the table in front of Kay.

"Hey dumbass!" Hong Su Man boomed causing Kay to shudder. "Stop reading dammit, it's pissing me off."

The next thing, a strong slap on Kay's face sends his glasses flying off his face.

Kay hissed out in pain, his face burning from the pain. For someone who had never been hit before he broke into tears like a baby.

"I'm sorry!"

But what was he apologizing for…?

"I'm sorry!"

The bully started laughing.

Hong Su slapped his even harder throwing him off his seat and unto the floor. "What are you apologizing for? It makes me feel like I'm the bad guy."

"Sorry." Kay cried as he tried to find his glasses, his vision bacame blurry. "Sorry!"

The cries never once stopped, he just wished more than ever for it to stop but they started to kick and beat him.

Kay reached out for his glasses which he could barely see when something strange happened…

The visible constructs of a shadowy figure picked up his glasses causing him to run out of breath. The world went white and became very still. A drop of sweat that had slid of his hair froze in place.

"It's odd that we had to meet like this", said a sweet female voice. "I have been watching you for a while."

Kay could barely speak.

"I can help you…"

"How ?" He asked desperately.

Hong Su kicked him in the gut causing him to cry out in pain. "You can still talk back, huh?"

The shadowy figure said…

"Can you see me?"

Kay taxed his eyes with his blurry vision. The world seemed like a haze but he was determined to see the figure that had been stalking him for every day and night.

His vision slowly became clear…

A beautiful woman with long white hair and wearing a white garment.

"Yes--", the words managed to escape his throat. "-- I can see you!"

The shadowy figure bent down and put his glasses back on his face and said.

"I see you!"

"I SEE - KAY!"

"Would you like to sign a contract with me?"
