Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Age Of The Ancients

3,560 years ago, the Ancients won the war against everyone, but many met their demise, including the Sun God, the Moon Goddesses, and one of the True Gods who was prayed to during this war. This new era was called the Area of the Ancients. As new gods rose, so did others, such as the Kings of the Angels of Death, War, Wisdom, Fate, Time, Heaven, and Protection. However, the Angel of Protection fell and met his demise after losing to one of the Ancients. In his last words, he said:

"Thou my death will be the beginning, it shall also be the end."

After that day, his corpse turned into ash, flying through the air. When it landed on the ground, trees grew from the ashes, and a massive tree towered over the others. As the years passed, the tree continued to grow. In the depths of the ocean, an egg was breaking open, and a serpent was born. It grew immense in size and was known as Ouroboros. This serpent impregnated the massive tree, and a creature was born with two legs, four wings, and only one arm, with silky green hair and an insatiable hunger. As she grew, she began absorbing everything—darkness, light, Ancients, and even gods. She became known as the one who started it all: Barbelo of Salvation, the first of many. However, she was sealed away in the east, deep under the ocean, with her father biting his tail as the seal was Formed. Another egg remains in the south, untouched by anyone.

Drusilla closed the book and placed it on her lap, glaring at Dipull as she spoke.

"Now you may ask how this connects to helping your friend recover."

Drusilla glanced again at Dipull, waiting for his response. She could see that he seemed intrigued by the story she had just told, but was unsure how it connected to helping his friend recover.

Drusilla let out a deep sigh and said, "It's the egg. It lies here in the south. You just need to get the blood of the creature inside and give it to your friend to drink. I must warn you, there is a reason why no one has ever touched or seen it. It's because it is guarded by Admetos III."

Dipull was confused about who Admetos III was, and he didn't understand the last part she said because he was lost in his own thoughts. Something was bothering him inside, but he just asked,

"Admetos III Who is that?"

Dipull said in a cheerful tone, as Drusilla's lips curled into a small smile. She spoke again.

"He is the son of Admetus II, and his mother was Alcestis I. It's a very long story, but"

After the war, they both lived happily. One day, Admetus fell sick, and no one believed he would recover. There was a way to save the king by offering themselves to die in his place, but no one wanted to do it—not his people, not his family, nor his subjects. But Alcestis did. She offered herself in place of her husband. Instead of him dying, she died. This repeated itself as Admetos III went to the southern continent in search of the egg. He fell into madness.

"It's unknown why he fell into madness,"

Drusilla said with a soft sigh, as Dipull's thoughts kept circling back to Bob lying there, Dipull's hands covered in the blood of the person he killed.

"Oh... sorry, what did you just say again?"

Dipull glared up at Drusilla as she sighed again, "It doesn't matter. Now go to your friend, check on him, or get some sleep, Dipull."

Dipull slowly stood up and walked to the door next to his room. He slowly opened it, walked in, and sat down on the chair next to Bob, who was lying in his bed.

"Why are you still sleeping?"

Dipull's last remaining hope snapped as tears fell down his cheeks. Overwhelmed, he felt angry, sad, and ashamed. But he did have one option: find that egg.

"..."

Dipull stood up and wiped his tears away. Not wanting to waste time, he walked to the door, opened it slowly, closed it, and ran. He grabbed his wooden sword as Drusilla yelled,

"Hey, where are you going you can't go now!"

Dipull ran through the snow as the cold wind blew. He ran and ran, not knowing where this egg was hidden, but he was determined to find it.
