Chapter 36 - A tad different

Parts of the ground shook and cracked under the pressure of the attack unleashed from the two and the other participants that were there pulled back instantly so that they would not get caught in the crossfire and one of the other instructors placed a shield around them, to avoid any causalities.

Violet looked at the aftereffects around her as the air was filled with dust and smoke, which had slowly begun to disperse, the other participants exchanged glances and Luca as well as Lucas and Kei approached her and Xania hovered around her to see if she was doing okay, since that was something none of them were expecting.

Kei spun her around to see if she was injured and he sighed in relief when he saw that she wasn't since, she was basically their responsibility as well.

She smiled a little at Kei and he stared at her before chuckling, since a smile from her was only at rare moments and ones he considered valuable in his eyes, due to the years of hardship he had seen her in especially with their family and all of the weird rumors, ones which he did not know where they came from and remembered them all quite vividly.

Luca glanced at her and his eyes narrowed as the air around them cleared up completely after the blast, only leaving the remnants of the attack that had just taken place, which was quite a bit of damage but not too much.

The other instructor removed the shield from around the participants and they gathered to check if the beast was truly dead or not and Violet's eyes narrowed and she approached the creature, lying almost lifeless on the ground and her brows furrowed.

'Pitiful,' She thought as she looked down at it and its eyes met hers, almost as though it was showing some sort of emotion and her eyes narrowed at the mere thought of it, since she had never seen emotions from such creatures before.

That made her wonder whether or not there were different ones among these dark creatures, which were known to only cause chaos over the years they had shown up and as it took its last breath she clenched her fists tightly beside her, lost in her thoughts about the complexity of the situation, while her brothers and Lucas, looked at her.

"How weird... This is not something that is often seen within these creatures... Something really does not feel right about these types of encounters..." She mumbled and at the same time, a few images began flashing across her mind, looking like memories and she gritted her teeth as she saw slightly blur and had a ringing sensation within her ears.

Xania approached her and his brows furrowed as he placed his hand on her head to calm her down a bit, as he realized what she was seeing were indeed memories, small fragments of them from her past life, ones that were not clear and could cause her harm if not controlled in a way.

"What the hell is this... Why am I seeing these things..." She mumbled and Xania's eyes began glowing as he steadied the flow of energy within her body, since he could not tell her what they were or the truth, she had to figure it out on her own, it was not something that he could get involved in, even if he may want to.

"Relax... You will figure it out soon enough, just try to calm your body down and keep the energy flowing properly within you," Xania advised and she took a deep breath and decided to listen to him.

Her brothers exchanged glances, wondering what was going on with her at the time, since they knew a lot of weird things had been happening around her lately and the one who was paying more attention to the changes with an unwavering gaze was Luca.

While others stared at the creature in fascination, fear and dread, some were a little fazed at how they took down the creature with much more ease than most of them could around there, which only showed how ahead they were and that the event was about to become a lot harder than it already was for among them were many formidable opponents and well-trained warriors, within the midst of it all.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Lucas, the head instructor asked her, as he was looking at her with an intense gaze.

Xania glanced at her and shook his head, indicating that she could not tell anyone what was happening to her, not at the time at least, since there were many complicated things surrounding her nature and she understood why he wanted her to keep quite, since she, herself was filled with a lot of uncertainty.

"Don't worry, I am fine..." She responded to Lucas and his eyes narrowed as he looked at her with a scrutinizing gaze and she met it with an unwavering one of her own and he let out an amused scoff.

"How many fights have you been in before?" He asked.

"Not many I can tell that because we all live under the same roof and from rumors you can tell that as well but a lot has changed lately and her ability is growing," Luca chimed in, trying to gauge a reaction of some sort from her, a hint of what was going on around her recently but she remained unchanged.

"Well, that explains a lot I guess... You still have a long way to go but if you keep it up you might have your chance here..." Lucas said to her and she glanced at him even though she was still in a bit of pain.

"Everyone this will be all for today, we will clean up the mess here and hand in a full report, we will see you all again here tomorrow and things will not be easy, keep that in mind, you are all dismissed," Lucas said firmly.

Everyone began gathering their things to leave and Kei stayed by Viloet's side as they left, but she gathered her bearings, trying her best to keep herself normal until they reached the palace.
