Chapter 38 - Seem to

Xania kept her memories stable so that she would not face many problems since he knew it would cause her to face more pain, something she did not deserve in the slightest bit and he was hell-bent on keeping the promise he made to her before, he would guide her to the goal she wants, even if it had to cost him his very life.

Xania's eyes glowed green as the flow of her memories began to stabilize and he felt a bit relieved when he saw that her body was relaxing more than it was before, showing she was starting to feel at ease once more.

She smiled a little in her sleep and he couldn't help but chuckled, before taking his hand off of her and he lay beside her on the bed and exhaled deeply, since he was quite tired as well due to using his energy to stabilize her body.

As she slept, she turned and hugged him and he patted her head, acting like he was her guardian and he could not help but smile at her letting her guard down a bit more.

Soon after he fell asleep as well and the minute he did so, she began seeing an image within her mind of a girl, sitting before a dragon and her brows furrowed as she heard the dragon's growl within her ear, something that was familiar to her, since she heard it many more times before and wondered where it was coming from.

"Soon enough you will remember, the more you grow in power child, the more you will start to realize there is much more to you than meets the eyes, more to your past than you could possibly imagine, when it begins to surface, when the truth begins to come to light, you need to be ready to face it," A voice said to her in her sleep.

"What.... Who are you..." She mumbled as she focused on the voice.

"Don't worry about me, I will show up sooner or later in your life, I am one that needs you as much as you may need me," The voice said and the mark on her body began glowing slightly as a large dragon appeared in her mind, an image of a magnificent creature.

"A dragon... How...Do I know you..." She mumbled in a sleepy haze, with many conflicting thoughts swirling around in her mind.

"Yeah, you do, but you will not fully remember this conversation until the day we actually meet again, I enjoy talking to you, it gets rather... Lonely in here as you would put it, I cannot wait to be released from here after so many years, for the time being, focus on growing, your abilities are growing and not fully unlocked also in a few days something will activate, be prepared for it, try your best and good luck, my dear," The dragon's voice echoed throughout her mind as she fell back into a deep sleep.

The next morning when she woke up, she yawned and stretched off, feeling a bit more at ease than she was the previous day as she recalled everything that happened and how she fell unconscious in the first place.

'That voice I know I heard it again but... I cannot remember the exact words that were said except I had to be careful and something was about to happen in a few days, it was a warning, but for what?' She wondered as she lowered her gaze, lost in her thoughts, trying to remember a little bit more that would help her but it was futile, she could not remember more.

"Hey... Can you recall anything perhaps?" She asked her system.

"Normally I would but last night was a bit weird in my opinion, I heard the familiar voice but since it entered your dreams, I could not get anything vivid other than a few words, none of which will be of use to you right now."

"I see... I feel like if I missed something else that was important, I do not see why I cannot remember these things, what harm could it possibly bring to me?" She asked.

"I do not know but I know enough that the one responsible for it, does not mean any harm to you, in fact, they seem quite attached and protective of you, from what I can gather so far, the way the voice spoke to you, it was quite easy to tell."

"Yes, I kind of sensed that already by now, it almost feels as though I am being watched over, by this being, a feeling that I am not quite used to, to people looking out for me, but ever since Xania came along, many things with myself has been changing as well," She added.

[A strange creature that one.... I have no record in my system of a being like him, quite mysterious and powerful in his own rights, he watches over you, wanting to keep you safe, even last night, he did."

Violet chuckled then glanced at Xania beside her with a small smile playing on her lips, before she got up and went to freshen up, to get ready to head to the academy, for another day of the event.

While she was freshening up, Xania woke up and yawned before stretching off and he sat up on the bed, wiping his eyes as he waited.

"Xania, for the next few days, you need to be more careful and push Violet, another one of those will show up, put the chance to use for her to gain experience and keep an eye on her, you cannot let things get out of control, remember why I sent you as well, do not forget that part of your job," The dragon voice rang through his head and he sighed then nodded.

A little while after, she finished getting ready, she came out to grab her things and then patted his head.

"Come on, sleepyhead, let's meet the others, we will eat on the way, we have a lot to do today," She said as she left the chamber and he followed her, while thinking of the dragon's words.
