Chapter 16 - Granted

Her aura reached an almost equal amount to his and his eyes narrowed, surprise clearly evident within them for he was not expecting, someone who he thought had low magical prowess, would be able to go head-to-head with him like that, which only made more questions arise in his head, another thing he did not like and he looked at her with a stern gaze and she returned it, like a mirror.

Her stepbrothers exchanged glances, wondering what they were seeing and her stepmother got up from her throne, for she could not believe her eyes, nor could anyone else in the room, for they always thought, Violet was someone who had low magical prowess and little potential to be much in the future.

At the time, Violet had already begun proving almost all of them wrong and she was willing to push further for she had no intention of being shoved in the dark anymore, locked away from a potential she could reach and create a better life for herself, a chance she got and wouldn't let slip through her fingers, no matter.

She looked her father, directly in his eyes matching him like a reflection in the mirror, which made his brows furrowed, for she kept pushing one thing to another into his face, all of which he found unexpected, but their little clash began affecting that around them, the room began shaking slightly and everyone looked at them, hoping they would stop.

Xania, placed his hand on her head and she snapped out of it and looked at the others in the throne room and her father followed her gaze and saw the mess they were creating and the servants held onto each other, causing the king to sigh and pinch the bridge of his nose.

He closed his eyes and his body returned to its normal state and he looked at Violet with his eyes narrowed and a piercing gaze and she glared at him before rolling her eyes and her body returned to normal as well, to which Xania patted her for being able to control, since he was worried she couldn't due to only now being able to have access to some of her abilities.

The king turned around and looked at the queen as well as her stepbrothers and they all exchanged glances, not knowing what to say, for they were all caught off guard by Violet's action, they never expected any of it and it hit them like lightning.

"I am not changing my mind, you will let me join...." She said, leaving no room for arguments unless he wanted to push her further, all she wanted was a chance from him, just a yes.

After hearing her say that, he glanced at her and she looked at him as he stared into her eyes, he couldn't help but have odd feelings about the situation, something which had not happened to him in a very long time and he was starting to see, through her eyes, she was changing, no longer the girl he knew and pushed aside.

"Are you one hundred percent certain that this is what you want? Will you hold anyone accountable if anything happens to you during this event? Do you know the effect this could have on all of us since your brothers will be joining as well? Do you know the consequences that could come from this Violet?" He asked.

"Yes, I am certain and I know nor will I hold any of you accountable if anything happens to me, this is my decision and my life, no one has a right to decide for me and certainly not any of you, I know what I am doing and don't worry, it won't affect any of you after all I am the illegitimate child am I not? My title as princess will not be affected either and if it does and if anything does happen, since I am not tied to you guys, it won't affect any of you, none of my actions will," She argued and her father's eyes widened slightly.

A few words she had just said, struck a nerve within him, for he had not expected her to say that and he left staring at her, as did the others and her eyes narrowed as she looked at him and he sighed before looking away from her and Xania's eyes darted between the father and daughter and his eyes narrowed.

"Father, she made up her mind, give her a chance and she is right," Luca chimed in and Kei glanced at him then at Violet who was looking at Luca like she wanted to rip his head off and Kei lowered his gaze.

"Fine, since you have already made up your mind, I will grant you permission to join but remember your words, I will not be responsible for what happens," Her father said to her and a smirk appeared on her face and Xania smiled, seeing that she was satisfied.

"Thank you, Luca, for giving your thoughts even if it was not needed," She said and his brows twitched in irritation and Kei stifled a laugh as she scoffed then turned to her father and he glanced at her.

'He is feeling uncomfortable with this entire situation, I can see it in his eyes and expressions, this was not an outcome anyone would have even dreamed of and this girl really is starting to turn the tables,' Xania thought.

"Your Highness, thank you for giving me this opportunity, it means more to me than you can possibly imagine and I assure you, you will not regret the choice and I intend to push through, no matter who I have to go against, i will not let anyone stand in my way," She said with a fierce gaze as she glanced at Luca and his brows furrowed as he looked at her and Kei glanced at the two.

"Your Highnesses, I will take my leave now, I look forward to the event," She said with a small bow of her head then turned around and walked away and everyone left staring at her as she left the throne room and the king's eyes narrowed as he stared at her retreating form, wondering what this could all mean, for he was feeling a sense of unease.
