Chapter 17 - Point on

The king did not know whether to go after her or let it go but at that moment, he was having a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach and he did not know why nor understood the feeling, it was one he had never had before and made his uneasiness grew tenfold and his son exchanged glances while looking at him.

He looked down at the floor, trying to process everything that had just transpired, right before his very eyes and there was nothing that he could have done to stop it, for that had caught him, entirely off guard and for the first time in years, he had no idea what to do about it.

The queen approach him cautiously and she peeked at his face and could tell from just a glance, he was not in the mood to listen to anyone's nonsense, for his mind was consumed by Violet's defiant and determined eye, which only fueled the fire and he ran his finger through his hair, before exhaling deeply, trying to ground himself once again and not get too worked up.

After all, it was just Violet but different than he had ever seen before and it made him wonder, what more had changed that he had not seen as yet and how someone whom he thought had low magical prowess, gave off such an aura, everything about the encounter had rattled the king and he did not know what to do about it.

He went and sat down on his throne, with his eyes narrowed, while tapping his fingers on the armrest, lost in his thoughts, contemplating and trying to figure out what was going on to understand the situation a bit more, for no one had ever managed to push his buttons like that or drive him up a wall.

The queen sat down back quietly beside him on her throne, while glancing at him occasionally from the side of her eyes but not daring to say a single word, for she knew she would be walking on thin ice.

The princes were quiet and the youngest Kei, found parts of the situation amusing and he wondered what more Violet would do next, for he was intrigued by her actions and he stifled a laugh, while looking at the expressions of those around him and Luca glanced at him with his eyes narrowed.

"Hush," Luca said and Kei glanced at him with his eyes narrowed and a smirk on his face.

"No, I won't in fact I think I will rub it in, it's not a good thing to underestimate others and you have looked down on her for far too long brother, now we are all in the same event and for some reason, I can tell that she is no longer the same girl we know, now if I were you, I would be careful and not get too cocky, actions always finds a way to come back a bite you, I am not worrying because I am just in the event for fun but you are not, so heads up, the future is now unpredictable," Kei replied.

Luca scowled upon listening to his younger brother's words, but he knew to the very core, he was spitting facts and he had no comeback for that one, but it only fueled his determination more and he would not back down without a fight but parts of him were also curious as to what brought about her changes and how could someone change to fast.

Before he could say anything to Keo, their mother gave them a sidelong glare, silently telling them to hold their tongues before they say something to rile up their father, who was already looking at them from the side of his eyes and they both bowed their head in silence immediately, not daring to say another word that would anger their father, for he was already on edge with Violet's unpredictable actions, trying to figure out what is going on in her mind.

While they were lost in their thoughts and conflicted point of views, Violet went to the garden at the back of the palace to get some fresh air after what had happened in the throne room.

She exhaled deeply and looked up at the sky, while Xania was sitting on her shoulder and she did not realize it, he was studying her up close and he knew that despite it all, her determination and what had just happened with her father, parts of her were in turmoil, filled with many different types of emotions that she did not know how to show or what to do with them and he sighed then looked up at the sky.

'Dragon...You were right, she is one of a kind... Also, too complicated for her own good but now she will be stepping into a circle with constant power struggle, powerful beings, I believe she can reach the finish line, but I hope what you predicted and told me is true, because all hell will break loose and once the selection starts, there will be no going back,' Xania thought before glancing at her.

Xania patted her head and her eyes widened then she lowered her head, for she was not used to anyone comforting her and his eyes widened when he realized that, but he did not stop, he gently patted her and she relaxed a bit, before glancing at him and he smiled at her.

"Relax, you are going well so far, you deserve a lot more kid, I am right here to guide you through it, that's the promise I made and I will keep it until my last breath, my word is my bound, we have a contract and I will fulfill it, no matter what," He said and she nodded as her eyes glowed slightly.

[So am I, we need to start your training and test your skills before the event officially gets started, I will be here to assist you like usual so that you understand.]

"Then, let's test what you can do so far and how to get you better," Xania said and she nodded then left the garden heading to an open forest area nearby the palace, where hardly anyone goes so that she could test her abilities without having to worry about anything.
