"Is there a problem, Miss Penelope?" Liam asked, taking his place beside me. Although he didn't exude a dangerous aura, the cold, vigilant look he gave Damian revealed his readiness for any threat.
"No, not at all," I said between gritted teeth, grateful for Liam's timely arrival. I didn't want to imagine what might have happened if he had been even a minute later.
He barely looked at me, but when he did, he accessed my body quickly for signs of hurt. Finding none, he still maintained a skeptical vigilance toward Damian.
"You shouldn't be here, Alpha Damian. This place is reserved for only the King." Liam spoke plainly like he didn't have the time to mince words.
Damian's demeanor shifted, and a sardonic smile appeared on the sides of his lips. "Forgive my manners, Liam," he said unapologetically, "It escaped my memory that this place was reserved especially for the king." His voice dripped with obvious sarcasm.
