The room fell silent again as Dimitri left the room and left Freya with Vano, who was guarded by a man in the corner of the room. Vano could only faintly hear Freya's sobs, mixed with the sound of his labored breathing, as his eyes continued to stare at the knife that was stuck in one of his thighs.
It did hurt, and it was scary when Dimitri stabbed the knife so deep that Vano was worried that the tip of the knife would only stop after hitting his leg bone. But compared to the fear when he saw his mother stabbed or worried that Freya may have been stabbed before, the fear that Vano had was rather suppressed by the relief that he felt.
Vano was grateful that, at least, he could save Freya even though he had to be injured. Slowly, the knife that used to look so scary was no longer so scary because Vano had felt the pain of being stabbed by the knife himself. It was strange indeed. His trauma had miraculously improved in that bad situation.
