Barbara went to her once supposed to be home, thinking about how to face her parent and Aurora. How was she supposed to be? Angry, or indifferent? And how could they possibly treat the real Barbara now? Did they find it easy to switch the engagement between her and Aurora? Did they never think about her feelings?
The carriage came to a stop before the Reylson's gate, she waited till they allowed her to get in, and then the carriage rode inside, stopping beside the stairs to the front door. As she slipped out of the carriage, she went directly inside, meeting Ven, the steward, asking for permission to meet Kristie.
As she was led to the gathering room, she took a glimpse of her mother walking with Aurora in the garden's direction. Barbara watched as the steward disappeared from her view so she sneaked to the garden, hiding herself not to be seen by the mother-daughter duo, who seemed chatting happily.
"Mother, did I make the right decision?" Aurora asked
