"I have great news. Look," she said, showing her a white envelope.
"Do not tell me it is what I am thinking of?" she stated, reaching closer. Barbara's heart thumped with anticipation. Opening the letter, she found an order to make a dress like Kristie had worn at the queen's birthday party. Her heart nearly jumped from his place.
"We had succeeded," she squealed like a child, but upon noticing that she had acted unladylike in front of many people, she coughed and sat down. She could feel her cheeks turned warmer. Earlier, she was adamant about teaching Kristie etiquette to act like her; however, she seemed the one needing to learn those lessons again!
But when she thought of how to do it, her smile faded. Despite this, she chatted with the baroness and Kristie. When the two of them were alone, Barbara sighed.
"What happened? Aren't you supposed to be happy as you get your first offer?" Kristie questioned.
