Barbara's eyes widened in horror, her heart pounding in her chest. The dream shattered as the scene before her was engulfed in a blinding flash of light. She woke abruptly, gasping for air as her breath hitched. Her room was engulfed in an unusual darkness, adding to her sense of confusion and fear.
"It's just a dream!" she chanted softly, trying to calm her racing heart. She extended her hand for the pitcher to drink water but found nothing. She frowned as she was sure that she had seen it when she entered her chamber in the evening.
"Lady Barbara, the dinner is ready," a familiar voice called out, breaking her thoughts.
"I am coming," she replied but stopped when she realised something. 'Did I just hear someone calling my real name?' she thought, her heart racing with confusion.
