Chapter 26 - 3 years into the future

It's been three years since I went to the observatory with Paige. I'm currently 13 years old, and my 14th birthday is approaching soon. I'm in my last year of college, and Paige is also in her final year.

Our relationship has only gotten better over time, and the same goes for my friendship with Sheldon and the others.

It's incredible, but somehow I've managed to be recognized as a friend by Sheldon. I've been hanging out with them quite frequently recently.

Suddenly, my phone rang.

"What's up, Wolowitz?" I asked Howard, who had just called me.

"Come over to Sheldon and Leonard's apartment quickly. I've got a copy of a lecture Hawking gave in 1974 in my hand," Howard said, his excitement evident over the phone.

"I'll be right there," I replied.

I was quite interested in the lecture. Currently, I was in my dormitory researching the latest computer technology.

Since Blueberry Company entered the touchscreen market in 2004, it has made significant advances. With investments and some loans, I was able to hire more researchers, easing my workload.

It didn't take long for us to dominate the touchscreen market. Our technology improved daily.

About a year ago, we started penetrating the computer market, and we've been quite successful.

If this trend continues, our company will soon be at the top of the computer market.

As for the AI I developed three years ago, it has been updated numerous times, along with its servers. Consequently, it now stores a vast array of knowledge.

I even gave the storage system a nickname: The Library of Alexandria. Its book collection is expanding rapidly and is already enormous. Thanks to a substantial budget, Alexandria can purchase books, making decisions like which ones are best.

Reflecting on recent achievements, I took a taxi to Sheldon and Leonard's apartment.

Arriving at the building complex, I entered and took the stairs to the upper floor.

The stairs posed no problem for me. I recently started going to the gym and trying calisthenics.

I arrived at Apartment 4A, the home of the two scientists, and opened the door to find no one inside.

Sheldon and Leonard were not home, so I waited for a while.

About five minutes later, the door opened.

"Oh, Gabriel. What are you doing here?" Sheldon asked.

"Hi, Gabe," Leonard greeted me.

"Howard said I should come to your apartment," I answered.

"Why? What's wrong? Is Leonard entertaining a lady?" I teased.

Sheldon would never entertain a woman, and Leonard was usually too shy for it.

"You're right," Sheldon nodded, looking a bit surprised that I knew.

"YOU REALLY HAVE A WOMAN OVER?!" I exclaimed loudly.

Leonard had a woman over?! I couldn't believe it.

None of the four scientists had ever had a woman over.

The only one who had relationships was me, but they were minor because I just wanted to experience love. I only kissed them, and that was it. It wasn't something special in my mind. It wasn't hard for me to attract these women, as they were still young, and I looked very handsome.

"She'll be here any second. She's our new neighbor," Leonard said, a little shyly.

"Oh, hi! Who are you? Are you their little brother?" a beautiful blonde woman walked into the room and enthusiastically greeted me.

"Hi. No, I'm not related to any of them. I'm their friend," I quickly clarified.

"I'm Penny. And who are you?" Penny said, extending her hand enthusiastically.

"I'm Gabriel. But you can call me Gabe," I said, shaking her hand.

"Are you guys scientists or something?" Penny asked, looking at the boards.

I started to look at the board too.

I chuckled seeing an equation at the bottom.

"Good one, Sheldon," I complimented.

Sheldon nodded proudly.

"Are you guys some kind of geniuses?" Penny asked curiously.

"Yes," Sheldon answered immediately.

"Who's the smartest among you?" she asked.

"Me."

"Me."

Sheldon and I answered simultaneously, while Leonard remained silent.

"You're also smart?" Penny asked, surprised that I wasn't in the negatives.

"Yes. I'll be graduating college soon and starting my first Ph.D.," I said proudly.

"How old are you?" she asked.

"Thirteen," I replied.

Penny was shocked after hearing my answer.

"That's not too impressive. I also graduated at 14," Sheldon tried to intervene.

"But a year slower than Gabe," Leonard added from the side.

"Who's the smarter one then?" Penny asked again.

"For now, Sheldon is better, but Gabe will likely surpass him in the future because he's more intelligent. You can see it when they play chess against each other. It's a battle of giants, but Gabe usually wins," Leonard explained to Penny.

After that, the four of us chatted for a bit.

Leonard even allowed Penny to use their shower. By now, it was obvious to even Sheldon that Leonard had a huge crush on Penny.

Suddenly, Howard and Rajesh walked into the apartment.

"Hey, guys! Look what I've got here. A copy of a lecture by Stephen Hawking from 1974, before he became transformed," Howard said excitedly.

"Let's watch it right away," Rajesh suggested enthusiastically.

"Leonard has a woman over," I said with a huge smile.

"REALLY?!" both Rajesh and Howard exclaimed in disbelief.

"Are you sure it's not his grandma?" Howard asked for confirmation of his suspicions.

"I'm very sure," I nodded.

Howard was getting excited now. Howard was a walking hormone bomb. He wanted to have sex at every turn but never really achieved that goal.

Suddenly, Penny walked out of the bathroom wearing only a towel.

I could see Leonard, Rajesh, and Howard all getting a little turned on.

"Leonard, could you please help me with the shower?" Penny asked.

They both walked back into the bathroom.

Howard wanted to say something, but I quickly stopped him.

Then, we started discussing what Leonard and Penny did in the shower.

Suddenly, my mom called.

"Gabriel, could you please come home? Your grandpa, Uncle Mitchell, and Uncle Cam are coming over soon," my mom requested.

"I'll come," I agreed.

Family was more important than some Hawking tape from 30 years ago. I knew that.

"Sheldon, we need to help Penny retrieve a television," Leonard said to Sheldon, embarrassed, as they walked out of the bathroom.

After that, Leonard explained everything to us.

Penny had an ex-boyfriend who had taken her TV, and Leonard agreed to help her get it back due to his hormones.

"Bye, guys. I'll take a taxi home. See you tomorrow or in the near future," I said to the others.

They probably won't watch the Hawking recording now anyway. They'll be waiting for Sheldon and Leonard to come back.

After they come home, everyone will be too busy with the woman.

It was pretty predictable.

I took a taxi home and enjoyed having dinner with my whole family.
