~~~Washington DC, USA~~~
~~~White House~~~

~~~June 1942~~~
Through the corridors of the White House, a uniformed man was running frantically, shouting to everyone to permit him, as he hurried to the Oval Office, wanting to get to President Roosevelt as soon as possible.
Opening the door to the Oval Office without knocking first, he was greeted by the disgruntled stares of those gathered there, especially the president, who despite being in a wheelchair, gave off an energetic and serious aura, "What is the meaning of this? We are having an important meeting, soldier.
To the soldier, the resident's scolding did not matter to him in any measure, being more interested in delivering the new telegram sent from the fleet in the Pacific. "I'm sorry Mr. President, but you must know this," he explained, approaching the table and handing over the telegram.
Roosevelt took his glasses and accepted the telegram, then began to read it, and as he moved between the lines, his frown became more and more pronounced until he ended up with his eyebrows almost drawn together, along with a surprised and confused face, "Is this true?" Roosevelt asked, laying the telegram on the table.
"Yes Mr. President, there is a citizen captive at said location, with the Seventh Fleet 400 miles from the location," what was said by the soldier caught the attention of the generals and essential personnel present, who asked what was going on.
At this, the soldier looked at Roosevelt, who nodded, permitting him to speak, "Five hours ago a reconnaissance plane of the seventh fleet was intercepted in the south pacific, the alarming thing about this is that the place where the plane was intercepted was in what appears to be a continent, a very vast one, Corporal William reported that apparently, the said place had a bloody encounter with Japanese ships, and that if his words are to be believed, it resulted in the destruction of the Japanese, other than that, not much is known about the place, only that it is very well organized, plus they carry medieval weapons and make use of..... Dragons."
"I think I speak for everyone when I say this is no time for tasteless jokes, especially in times of war like this," General Lincoln was the first to raise his voice, bringing everyone back to the present, "we all know dragons don't exist, and we're not in the eighteenth century enough to be wearing armor."
"I'm sorry to break your view of reality, everyone's in fact, but my words are truthful, and are even complemented by the photographs and videos the two pilots of the plane took, you can watch the tapes whenever you prefer," the soldier was undeterred, he, who had suffered racism since his childhood because of his skin color, the direct comments of these old men did not affect him.
"Isaiah, that's enough, thank you very much, you are dismissed," Roosevelt stopped Isaiah's tirade, who apologized and left the room shortly after, "this changes the course of the war as we know it if it is true that this nation, managed to deal a blow to the Japanese Empire by destroying one of their fleets and coming out of it unscathed, then creating ties with them is imperative, we are on a tightrope gentleman, and we have to take every olive branch heaven sends our way."
Those words brought a cold air to the room, it was no secret that the United States was in trouble, from Europe, with many plates of dead soldiers because of Hydra and Axis forces, the war in the Pacific had taken a different path than expected, with Japan taking the lead after the disastrous battle at Midway, and even in the south, Mexico was scrambling to get the territories of New Mexico and Texas.
They were having a three-front war and were winning none of them, and you had to be very foolish or blind not to see it. "What do you propose, Mr. President?"
"Diplomacy, this country... This nation, while it denotes itself as powerful, also shows itself diplomatic, it lets one of the pilots free to contact the fleet, and it is evident that they want to establish relations, let's not forget that their emergence is strange, until this morning there was only sea in that place, so something could have happened to motivate that country to show itself, which I doubt, or mysterious forces are intervening."
"Mysterious forces?" One of the generals spoke up, with a dubious look, "but there have been no documented supernatural occurrences that would get an entire country to be able to hide for I don't know how long, while people with superhuman abilities are known, nothing powerful enough to do something like that has been found."
"Well then I remind you about the Hellfire Club, and how they managed to stop the German advance into Britain when the former was about to invade England and destroy your club, so don't talk to me about supernatural things, because I know more about them than you do," Roosevelt spoke up, a bit angry at not being taken seriously, especially noting how many of his generals were ignorant of the supernatural aspects seen in the world.
"Contact the best diplomats the country has to offer, you will take the plane first thing in the morning and fly to the seventh fleet, we are up against the clock, and we have to take advantage of this opportunity before our enemies take advantage of it."
"Yes, Mr. President."
------
As ordered, a plane took off from San Francisco the next day, carrying several diplomats, professional cameramen, and trained personnel as a protective measure.
They knew the summary of the location and the general aspect of their mission, an unknown advanced civilization just spotted in the South Pacific, with giant cities, dragons, and medieval costumes, at first glance, it seemed like a bad joke. But since they were reports from the White House, they knew there was no room for jokes so they may be approaching a new country.
"All right, attention everyone," just as a huge mountain range could be seen on the horizon, a lieutenant rose from his seat and addressed the men under his protection.
"The place we are headed to is called Xandar, apparently it is an Empire, one that is governed by militaristic rules, so once we land, I want you to do nothing out of the ordinary, no questions out of place, no behavior that may seem offensive, know that we know nothing of your culture or traditions, so I ask you to keep your ideals and thoughts to yourselves, we don't need a conflict just because someone thought it was a good idea to talk about God in a medieval place."
So, for the next seven hours, everyone continued to organize their ideas, questions, and methods of contact, while in the distance the mountain range was still present, talking about its enormous size and extent.
"ROOOAR!"
Suddenly, a roar brought several passengers out of a trance, who were alarmed by the roar, with several looking out the windows wanting to see the supposed dragons, which they were allowed to do when a total of three wyverns were suddenly around the plane.
"That's right, damn it, the dragons are real," one of the cameramen didn't miss the moment and started filming, not wiping the huge grin on his face, enamored with seeing a creature that was said to be from fairy tales.
While the diplomats and cameramen were busy admiring the mythical creatures, the lieutenant who had warned everyone hours before had a serious and self-conscious look on his face since he knew the speed that the plane they were on could reach, which had been chosen for its flight speed to reach Xandar as soon as possible.
So seeing such beasts match the speed of the airship did not sit well with him, especially since it was wearing armor of what looked like metal mesh, which should weigh several hundred kilos, which spoke of the animal's strength. Making the lieutenant, who so far did not feel threatened by the reports about such creatures, tense up as he saw their physical capabilities up close, something that did not look good at all.
However, the riders of the three wyverns kind of already knew that the plane would arrive, as they did not impede its progress, only escorted it until they approached the town where the reconnaissance plane had been intercepted, and where Corporal Rick was being held captive.
"Oh hell, what the fuck!" another round of surprises and amazement ensued as the plane approached the city, allowing them to see it from up close and at a great height, observing how the city stretched as far as the eye could see, with medieval-looking buildings, but surprisingly beautiful, along with natural aspects around it that left the passengers enamored, causing their interest in being on the ground to increase even more.
