Sophia came downstairs to the kitchen looking more relaxed and healthy than weeks back. In spite of everything, she was quite grateful that Luca or Carla hadn't disturbed her. It was surprising, but she was still glad nonetheless.
She noticed that everyone was busy doing something except for her. "Good morning, Carla. What am I doing today?" she asked, ready to carry out her job, but Carla waved her aside.
"Nothing, just go on about. It's what the boss said."
She watched with a furrowed brow as Carla walked past her. What was going on? If Luca didn't want her doing anything here anymore, why was she still here? She couldn't afford to avoid him anymore; as Leona said, she needed to confront him.
She went outside the kitchen and saw Diego cleaning some weapons with Meg helping out.
"Hello, Diego... is Luca around?"
Diego hesitated before nodding.
She made to leave but he called her back. "He doesn't want to be disturbed."
