Luca stood in the hallway outside Sophia's room, deep in thought. The sound of footsteps drew his attention, and he looked up to see the doctor approaching him.
"She's stable now, boss," the doctor said. "The injury wasn't too deep, and she'll make a full recovery."
Luca let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Thank you."
The doctor nodded. "She needs rest. Both physically and emotionally, she's been through a lot."
Luca ran a hand through his hair, trying to process everything. "Is she awake?"
"Not yet. She just needs time," the doctor replied.
Luca nodded and pushed open the door, stepping into the room. Sophia lay on the bed, her face pale and her eyes closed.
He approached her slowly, pulling up a chair and sitting down beside the bed. He watched her chest rise and fall with each breath.
