"Show," The wight insisted once more to Anaisa, and then its already ghostly-pale body went nearly transparent. Swiftly, it moved to leave. Was it also scared of the Emperor?
"Wait–" She urged, but it was no use. It was already beyond her sight.
The Emperor was looking around his chamber, momentarily disoriented.
Show? How was she supposed to show her power when she didn't even know what it was? Unless–

Was her gift something like Daniel's? Perhaps she was meant to show the Emperor something that would convince him not to destroy the human world?

The Emperor's eyes fixed on her, and narrowed. They were more harrowing in real life than in the dream. The white pupils in enormous black eyes were like that of his subjects, boring into the humans.
