"I'm here to see Valerie." Max said to the secretary whose office was right outside Valerie's.
As soon as the Secretary looked up and saw who it was, her face flushed. She had seen him on the screen a bunch of times but seeing him up close was completely different.
Her face flushed and her heartbeat accelerated.
'Is this...love at first sight?' she thought but those silly thoughts immediately died down as soon as Mariam snapped her fingers in front of her.
"What do you think you're doing?" She asked, knowing fully well that this secretary was ogling over her brother. "For someone who's extremely busy, you seem to have all the time in the world to stare at your boss' husband."
"Oh, uh... my apologies." The secretary said, bowing her head in embarrassment. "Miss Ross is in her office."
Max wasted no time and made his way to the door.
Mariam eyed the secretary before walking away. For some reason, she was disappointed.
